    Excellent card for encoding/transcoding
I am using this for encoding/transcoding in Jellyfin/Plex and it works great! Way better than an old nvidia gpu and surprisingly cheap for how much it can do. Just barely a dual slot card so fits pretty much anywhere.Card is built fine, runs cool and the fan only kicks in under heavy load which is nice for keeping the noise down. I don’t actually ever hear the card as my case fans are louder overall.Tested with it working in TrueNAS, Debian, and Windows. No issues on Linux, but Windows was wonky until I got drivers as the generic drivers are trash, but that’s just a Windows thing.

Perfect low power plex transcode gpu
For light gaming this gpu will actually work really well, 1080p and pretty much all esports titles will run very well on it. I was more interested in this specific model since it only uses pcie slot power, no 6 or 8 pin required. I mated this to a Beelink GTi13 with the dock, running ubuntu 25.04 and it works perfect for plex transcoding. Card is silent, the fan doesnt spin much when left on auto, temps are fine. The card is lower wattage and essentially I just plug it in and forget it, I’m not worrying about tuning fan profiles. Even an 8 pin powered a380 cannot pull 100w, the die just want use that much power. I do wish it had a backplate but I will probably just put kapton tape on the backside incase the cat decides to lick it or something.

    Great for Transcode & NAS
First off, this thing is great if you’re on a budget and just need something to game. There’s some issues with support for older titles, but otherwise it’s a respectable option. This isn’t what I bought it for though. The Arc series of GPUs have absolutely fantastic hardware accelerated GPU encoding and decoding, making them ideal for NAS systems. I use this in my NAS to run transcode for Plex so everyone in my home can be watch multiple streams of movies we own, transcoded in great quality on the fly.The card is small, quiet, cool and light for my use case, so it has a nice home in my server rack in my living room.

    Great for homelab!
This is one of the cheapest and smallest cards you can get that does modern AV1 encoding. I have it running on my Proxmox Server with Jellyfin and it is working great for hardware transcoding. It supports multiple 4k encoding streams and never has had an issue once I got the drivers installed. One small note is that the fan can ramp up and down sometimes, even with no load, but that does not bother me too much because it still is pretty quiet.

    This GPU is amazing
This card is Amazing, Intel really fixed their 1st gen issues with this one, it is capable of running anything at 1080p and 1440p, and its idle power is around 18w much lower than my main 5070Ti, it runs quiet and it looks very nice.

    I’m enjoying.
I’m enjoying the card, its quiet, runs smooth, and runs everything I play well. Was worried it would be slowed by my system since my board and cpu are a little slow for this card but it runs great. When I do upgrade the board and cpu I know I’ll get more performance out of the card. Typically getting well over 200 fps or more with maxed graphics for the games I play and card is always cool. So far I haven’t had any major issues, a couple small glitches when I first bought it but the driver updates fixed them. The driver updates are pretty frequent.

    Perfect for my Plex NAS
I needed a trancoding GPU for a NAS I built, and this was the smallest GPU I could find is such a small footprint. I wanted a GPU that can handle the latest codecs which is something the ARC lineup is known for. Since the Linux driver is upstreamed I just plugged the GPU in and Plex could see it for transcoding purposes. The card runs fairly cool in my system. I have a 120mm fan mounted above the PCIe slots that help cool it, but it was only added to keep the 24 port HBA (drive controller) cool. I wouldn’t use this card for gaming besides 2D and very old games, but I don’t think gaming is the target customer for the A310.

Top tier transcoding for NAS/Jellyfin but one big/small issue
This little card is the king of transcoding in small form factor PC’s. I set up a Truenas server for my daughter using an old Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF and at first tried an AMD WX4100 low profile card. That did work but performance left a lot to be desired. Then, I got this little gem and WOW, this this really shines. Very fast, very low power consumption and basically plug and play for Linux these days. You won’t do better for this use case. If you have a full size case, I would strongly recommend the Asrock Arc A380 instead. It’s a better card in every way.Now for the problem – the fan. Intel and Sparkle left a glaring problem with the fan on this card. Out of the box, you get a terrible droning fan and as a bonus, the firmware constantly ramps the fan uuuupp and downnnn. It’s enough to make you lose your sanity.I updated the firmware, which helped. That can be done in Linux command line but on Truenas Scale, it’s next to impossible due to how locked down it is. So, install it in a Windows PC or boot a Windows drive, install the Intel drivers and allow that to do it’s update. That will also install the latest firmware onto the card. Then, you can go back to Linux. However, the fan STILL ramps up and down, just a little bit less. OMG, it’s so annoying! My final fix was to run powertop on the server (install powertop, run powertop –auto-tune, systemctl enable –now powertop). That seems to have sent the card into a state of stability and the fan is basically steady now. It’s still an annoying tone but at least it’s just ONE annoying tone.If this issue was fixed, the card would be flawless for it’s usecase.

It’s fine, if you can get it working and the your PC is in the basement. The driver installer is a joke, results in the attached photo. The card makes an annoying whining ramp up and down constantly – NOT something you want to be sat beside all day. Other people report that updating the driver (and by side effect the firmware) on windows fixes the issue, but it does not. Intel has lost their mind, and if I don’t return this card, the annoying sound will make me lose my mind too.

The card works great! It’s used in a Jellyfin media server for encoding/decoding/transcoding video, and it works great in Truenas Scale. This card can even do AV1 decoding/encoding, which is rare for this price. The card is quiet when utilized and when its idling, the fans stop spinning automatically. This means the card does have fan-stop at lower utilization/temps. I haven’t noticed any fan coil wine either.NOTE: I do not game on this card, so this card is not being fully utilized/stressed, since i use it for my media server (decoding/encoding).
