Great buy, very reliable and versatile
Best generator – tri fuel (!!) – works great with propane, natural gas and gasoline. Best part is the Westinghouse Smart Switch power module which makes the unit fully automatic – I know of no other portable generator that is compatible with the smart switch . Once the Smart Switch senses no current in household outlet, the generator auto starts and switches the attached appliances from house current to generator current – brilliant and no electrician needed. (Note: Smart Switch max output is 20 amps). This is my second Westinghouse generator (upgraded from 7500 to 9500 and from dual fuel to tri fuel) – very reliable – had the previous one for 3 years without any issues – starts every time. When running on fuels other than gasoline the max output is less than 9500 so take that into consideration when sizing the right unit for your needs.

Great for home backup power
Overall fantastic generator. It is very easy to use with the electric start. It’s not any more noisy than any other generator out there but does have some noise so keep that in mind. It came with the battery charged enough to start so that was nice. It seems well made and Westinghouse seems to have a good quality control system, so far so good. I just tried it with the manual switch to power the house and it had enough amperage capacity to handle the load of a two story house running several things. I definitely recommend this generator for anyone needing backup house power at a reasonable price.

Bang for your Buck.
Product packaging is perfect. Everything is really self explanatory. Assembly is basic and start up is very easy. Started mine on propane and fired immediately. Noise level is what was expected and not bad. This unit will do what I need and the value is perfect. Thank you for building something very versatile and affordable.

Quality Generator
Solid build quality. Minor assembly required. Good maneuvering with wheel kit that is included. The beast runs like crazy. I am very happy with my purchase.

Great Generator, poor remote start feature IMO.
Pros: Very powerful, starts easily, easy setup and operation, push button start, not too noisy for one this size, lots of connection options. Had our first outage last night and it ran like a top and powered more than I thought it would, honestly.4 Stars only because the remote start doesn’t work like, say, a vehicle’s remote start. And, I can’t seem to get it to start on propane….but that could be a propane problem on my end.Cons: I bought it for the remote start and EFI. The remote start doesn’t work as I had imagined. Maybe all generators are like this…but the battery switch on the generator has to be toggled on for the remote start to work. Like a car with EFI, this is like turning on the ignition. The fuel pump primes and it sits in limbo. At first I thought I’d just leave this on all the time to ensure the remote start would work….but after a day, something happens which disables the remote start unless you toggle the battery switch off and on again. Pretty frustrating really, that you must physically access the generator to use the remote start…which kind of makes the remote start useless for my application. Also, I can’t get it to start on propane. Always have to start on gas and switch to propane and it works fine. But won’t start on propane alone. But this may be a propane issue on my end or something. Who knows. Oh well, nice generator overall and hopefully will provide years of service.

Great Generator
The Westinghouse 12,500 Watt Tri-Fuel Generator is an outstanding choice for reliable home backup power. It delivers impressive performance and versatility, offering the ability to run on gasoline, propane, or natural gas. The inclusion of both 30-amp and 50-amp hookups makes it highly adaptable for a variety of power needs, while the remote start feature adds convenience during emergencies. The build quality is excellent, with thoughtful design for easy maintenance and long-term durability. Westinghouse has a proven reputation for standing behind their products, and the comprehensive warranty provides added peace of mind. For anyone looking for a powerful, dependable, and well-built generator that will last for years, this model is a clear winner.

Tri fuel and electric start for the win!
Seems to be a high quality generator with many features. The electric and remote start allows anybody to be able to start it.It comes with a 15ft NG hose so it can be plumbed into your home’s gas line. While it de-rates it’s power, it will cost less than gasoline and keep the engine much cleaner.Setup was easy enough. Put on wheels and legs was all I had to do. It comes with a small toolkit that has everything you need. There are plenty of tags reminding you to do things like put in the oil before starting, turn off the gas when not in use, etc.The neutral is bonded to the frame, so if you plan on using it to run your home, it is recommended to unbind the neutral which is easy to do and is located behind the alternator cover. We’ll see how this holds up long term, but I do not forsee any issues.

My WGen9500TFc
My WGen9500TFc PurchaseI’m really liking this thing, legs & wheels assembled very easily. I put supplied oil in it and test ran it on propane. I’ve been gas only for years so the ease & cleanliness of using propane left me grinning like a big dope. It’s remote start, push-button or pull rope start and along with being tri-fuel what’s not to like!I grabbed this on prime days for a great price. I’m pleased with my purchase and looking forward to having an easy to use an maintain backup source.

Generator Surplus sent the missing Natural gas hose + charging adaptor. That is a good seller in my books. After adding the breaker in oil and testing this it seems to work fine as a power source on propaine. The build quality seems very good and having three fuels makes it good value for the investment. Having the electric start makes it easy to use for those less physically able. l will test natural gas the main reason I bought this power source as in many disasters in North America in recent years the natural gas stays on rather than trying to find gas stations for propaine and gas.As others have mentioned, the generator is quite loud & vibrates the floor if you have it in one. Perhaps it could use a rubber for the wheels and a little shed to dampen the sound.Instead of running a bunch of extension cords, I plan on having an electrician hook up an automatic transfer switch on my main power panel. This will prevent safety hazards for linemen repairing downed power lines and prevent damage to the generator and the devices plugged into it.Now I will make sure to pick up all the maintenance items to keep this running through any disaster.I will update my review after I have done more testing and have everything optimised.

Recent storms in our area have made owning a generator a necessity. The tri-fuel Westinghouse 12500W lets you select the fuel you want to use….Natural gas & propane & if you in a remote local gasoline is an option. The 12500 Peak Watts is plenty of power to run all your garage power tools , RV trailer & a quantity of your household appliances to live comfortably in a power outage. The generator arrived quickly & the box items list was complete. Easy setup out of the box….less than 15 mins…owners manual helped understand the Tri- fuel generator know matter your level of generator knowledge. I would definitely recommend the Westinghouse Tri-fuel 12500W…if you buy the tri-fuel you will have options….if your fuel option change you already have the right generator.

Don’t know yet haven’t had a chance to put it to work but the battery charger is a real bonus. Great idea.

Just got my generator, unfortunately the package was 1 axle and 1 flat washer short but the costumer service was great on usa side and canadian side , and they do whatever they can to get the missing parts to you asap.I think if you spend close to 3000 $ they could check and make sure al parts are there before send it out for delivery. The fuel tank and cross bar are dented and bend a little ,probably happend in transport .The noise is not bad at all I expected much more for such a big generator and it runs smooth.Overall I’m quite happy with this genset and I think I have one of the best genset I can buy for 3 grand in this caliber generators

My generator arrived without the attachment for one wheel, which would usually be welded onto the frame. It cost me close to $300 to have the missing part fabricated and welded onto. To date the company has not reimbursed me for this expense.
