Quick and easy storage addition
A reasonably priced, fast and easy addition to my computer storage. I purchased 2 of these as part of an external hard drive set up. Install, format, and you can be up and running. I have these drives literally sitting on my desktop, no heat, no noise. Based on SanDisk’s reputation, my past experience with the brand, and the manner in which I am using them, I expect the drives to last a good long time.

Installed the SanDisk SSD Plus 2TB in my security camera system, and it couldn’t have been easier. The setup was quick, the drive was recognized immediately, and performance has been rock solid. Low Price but high rate of failure.
This APFS-formatted, Thunderbolt-connected SSD has a high failure rate after less than one year. If you end up buying this and it fails within the warranty period, be advised that SanDisk (Western Digital) will (eventually, and only after several followups and CS escalation) send a refurbished unit to replace the failed one. The refurbished unit will likely fail within 6 months. As an owner of many SSDs, I can only recommend the bare SATA or PCIe Samsung ones.

Not recommended from this seller
I have been using these for the last 12 years of my business. The past 90 days, I have used more than 20. I purchased 3 a few days ago from this seller. The data transfer rate of these 3 were 400% slower, literally. This makes me question the authenticity of these hard drives. Which also makes me very concerned about this disks reliability. Hoping to hear a response from the seller. I do not recommend these ssd from this seller.

I had a moment of concern when I’d expected Windows to detect the drive – and it didn’t. No drive letter. I was about to send it back when I discovered it WAS working, just not detected. I went into Disk Management and created a simple volume. After that it was/is OK, hence 4 stars. I’ve cloned my Win 8 installation onto it and still have the original. Going to try to install Linux Mint to dual boot (once PC Specialist have told me how to change the BIOS boot order so as to boot from USB). At worst, it now has 2TB and I have a backup.
