Make sure the new doorbell will work before complete installation.
Make sure you have an existing doorbell that works. Download the Ring doorbell app. Flip the circuit breaker for the doorbell or turn off all the power. Disconnect the current doorbell. Before you go through the steps to mount the bracket for the doorbell, temporarily connect the ring wired doorbell, then restore power and you should see lights. Open the ring app and connect to your new doorbell. Push the button, if it works, cut the power again and disconnect the temporary connection. Mount the bracket(s), connect the doorbell and restore power again.

Mounting hardware only covers a hole as wide as the button.
Works as advertised – first time. Electrical set-up easy, but physical installation difficult as I had to mount on a wall box, and the box opening was wider than the button. Installing on top of the wallplate (necessary to hide the hole in the wall) was “challenging”. Go on-line to download installation instructions; those in the box are pretty sketchy.

Works great
Works really well. No need to run wires other than using the existing wires connected to the old doorbell button. The alerts (to person and packages arriving) are immediate. Seems the actual ringing of the doorbell being almost redundant. Very good system.

Almost perfect, but just misses the mark.
Ring Doorbell is great, as expected. However, the Chime Kit Mini is a big disappointment. It totally replaces your existing doorbell chime and no way to change the default doorbell. As I understand it, the prior version did NOT change your existing doorbell. IT would be cool if you could change what your doorbell sounds like like you can for the notification on your phone. Bit of a miss IMO and cost Ring a star.

Newest version of Ring Wired Doorbell Plus.
Camera is day and night better than previous model. Be aware that door bell does not attach directly to the current door chime but to a smaller chime. Still the ring is plenty loud to hear.

This is a good one. Get one
This is my second ring doorbell. The new one replaces the original purchased in 2013 or 2014. It was a bit more challenging to install because the newer model is not configured like the older bersion

Doesn’t work with existing doorbell!!!!
Does not work with your existing wired doorbell transmitter! The chime box that you place on the side of your existing doorbell transmitter wont work when you hook up the wires to the trans and front connectors like the prior wired doorbell plus to get your regular doorbell sound inside. So disappointed! I bought this and now I’m forced to buy one of Ring’s indoor chimes just to hear a doorbell sound inside my house.
