Great for beach week with the kids. Reliable, clear and FUN
Great tool (and entertainment for kids) on family vacation. Communicated from beach house to beach reliably over 1/4 mile with outstanding clarity. Didn’t test it out over longer distances, but it exceeded expectations and the 6-8 year olds had a blast using it to play hide-and-seek. Parents and grandparents appreciated the clarity and ease of use for young and old.Communication was private–channel security codes meant no blocked communications.Highly recommended.

Good Radio’s
These radios were a gift for my 5-year-old cousin. These work great. The microphone is very clear, unlike those $20-$30 radios. These have 22 channels (with 121 privacy codes), so you can enjoy clear and interruption-free communication, regardless of the conditions. They have 20 call tones, so you can get someone’s attention that way, or assign each person a call tone so you know who’s calling! Some things to note are that they have no NOAA weather capabilities. Also, these radios only output .5 watts, which is equivalent to about 1/4-1/2 mile in city conditions (20 miles is from mountain to valley). If you are going to use them around the house, to give to your kids, or around the park, these are an excellent option. If you plan to use them for things like camping, hiking, a shopping mall, or a small town, then I recommend buying the Talkabout T475, which are double the price, but also double the range. Overall, these are very good radios and they definitely outperform all the generics out there!PS: These are compatible with other makes and models of walkie-talkies, so don’t worry about that.

Good quality.
Let’s be honest. Most places now have cell service and phones are so much easier! However we recently went to a remote state park and used these because we knew there would be no cell service. They worked great, held their charge for a long time, and were easy to use. Helped us feel connected to our kids while they explored the area. Could hear everything pretty well as long as others weren’t talking. It was fun to teach our kids proper radio etiquette.

A good set a walkie talkies
The product has many features which allow you to select from many channels. This is great but can be initially confusing. After reading the manual I was able to set them up easily. I like the usb c charging and the included dual charging cable. The range was good but was not able to test max distance. I would say the mic picked up a lot of wind noise on a windy day which made it difficult to hear the talker. I’m overall happy with the purchase

Good range. Earpiece feature pretty bad.
Bought these for backcountry skiing/splitboarding.The good:LightRange was good enough for us. Could radio from a mountain summit to a parking lot 5.5 miles below maybe.Battery life was fine for day outings in very cold temps. So so:These are not weather proof, and we realized quickly if we put our packs down, snow would get in the speaker/mic and muffle sounds badly. Not the fault of the radio.Bad:The handsfree/voice acitvated earpiece/boom mic was horrible. Rarely activates on the first try, and had a weird transmission lag. We were hoping to use this feature rock multi pitch climbing, but it was way too finicky for us.Watchout:The clips do not hold the radio tightly to the dedicated loops on our pack straps. I lost one riding over a bump, and eventually found it.Partner lost one bending down in deep snow, and it disappeared for good!Make sure to use a lanyard through the end tab and a small carabiner to attach to a pack! I found that an ear loop from an old covid mask tied at the end, girth hitched through the bottom of the radio, and clipped with a mini biner to the loop on my chest strap works great. We upgraded to the yellow/black weatherproof set, which are a bit heavier, but we like ‘em.Hope this is helpful!

Excellent for hikes, fishing or hunting.
Was looking a reliable and affordable set of 2way radios, and this Motorola pair seemed to hit all the points needed for our weekend hikes and hunts. It is simple to set up, operate and is compact. I like the red color, as it is easy to find if I drop it.Seems durable enough to last.Tested up to 1 mile and worked well in flat area. 22 channels is more than what we need. The sound is clear.Still need to go over all the features and learn what much more this has to offer.Overall, a great purchase.

Don’t purchase these unless they are for use inside your house.
Zero stars!! Bought these thinking that they would be useful for easy communication, but they do not work when 500′ apart. No range with these hunks of junk. And I bought Motorola because they are a top name in radio technology. I used their radios back in the ’80’s and ’90’s and they worked great. These are garbage. Don’t bother. I understand that they are inexpensive, but when I get down the block, they should do better range wise. And I live in a rural community of single family homes and open space, so no tall structures to block the signal. Good for kids toys in the backyard, that’s about it.
