66w Turbo gan wall charger updated66w Turbo gan wall charger updated

MINIX’s 66W Turbo 3-Port GaN Charger Powered by the latest Gallium Nitride (GaN) Technology, It is capable of delivering a massive amount of power while maintaining an ultra-lightweight and compact form factor.

MINIX NEO P1 replaces the silicon found in traditional chargers with Gallium Nitride (GaN), creating a turbo charger that achieves higher efficiency and significantly reduces heat, making it safer, faster, and smaller.

With 66W, there is plenty of power to share around with 2 x USB-C (supporting Power Delivery 3.0) and 1 x USB-A (supporting Quick Charge 3.0) ports. Giving you the power to simultaneously charge your laptop, smartphone, and another USB device all at the same time.

Thanks to its high-density thin heat sinks, our turbo charger achieves industry-beating low operating temperature, and its fire-resistant polycarbonate enclosure provides an additional layer of protection.

Our 65W Usb C Charger’s multi protection safety system ensures complete protection for connected devices from overvoltage, input and output overcurrent, short circuit, and overheating.

The cleverly designed, built-in foldable wall plug tucks away when not in use, further reducing.

Supports worldwide universal 100-240V@ 50/60Hz. US, EU, UK adapters are included in the box for near-worldwide compatibility, making it the perfect travel companion.

GaN Compact and Ready For Global Travel w/ Common Adaptors
Generally satisfied with this device, price, design and capability as follows:1. Price ($40) is mid-point; there are cheaper and more expensive ones from other China sourced companies. See below – comes w/ UK, Europe AC adaptors that are $10 in value.2. GaN transformer element is both 1/2 smaller & lighter compared with prior-gen brick-type chargers. The game changer of GaN is that the small size of GaN allows the merging of lap-top brick-type chargers w/ chargers for personal devices. With laptops & goddam Apple going to C ports for new devices, there may be the Nirvana of one compact, travel & backup charger for all devices. We may be there as legacy devices with micro-B & Lightning are removed from use.3. Product finish, I think is very good, with very good feel and look, and some “texture.” It’s different from Apple look & feel of “white & smooth.”4. Design – this has my requirement of a power indicator (small LED), and also combo USB B and C ports to run next-gen C and legacy devices on B. There are 4 or 5 port chargers, but they may be too big for the wall outlet or power bar. If I need more ports (like charging 5 devices for the family in a hotel, I have another charger with an AC cord).5. Power – here’s where everyone needs to pay attention to specs – all PD (Power Delivery) chargers seem to be rated 65W (“Total”), but this unit is rated for FULL 65W when using 1 C port, while other, less capable, are rated for 45W for C only + 18W for B and they claim 65W. In other words, this Minix can provide 65W for laptops while others provide 45W even when rated for 65-68W.Follow-on use. A Dell 14” laptop and iPhone was connected and the Dell flashed a warning that the charger was providing “low power.” This suggests another plugged in device will cause this charger to power down to 45W to the C port, and slow down charging of multiple devices.6. AC Power – it’s 120-240V so with proper AC adapters, it can be used around the world by itself. This charger comes with AC adaptors that cover all the popular places like UK & Europe. The adaptors themselves are $10 value. I have a very capable BaseUS-brand “multi-purpose” charger with all the features I want, BUT it’s only 125V (WTF?).7. C Cable – DIDN’T come with a C-cord for laptop power delivery (PD) while some other chargers do. After-market C cables typically are very stiff (and easily kinked) and while C-cables attached OEM brick chargers for laptops are flexible & can be wound up. Would have appreciated a flex C-cable for laptop PD.8. Durability – it’s a TBD, and with every product out there, a % will go bad or is misused, who knows ?

No complaints, after a very satisfying customer service experience
REVISED 3/14/25: Happy customer here. As you’ll see below, I was having quite a bit of trouble using this charger to charge my 16″ MacBook Pro. That has changed. The company reached out to me last month, and sent me three new versions of this charger, to replace the three I was struggling with. Sure enough, that solved the problem, and I can count on my new chargers to work. My understanding is that the current version of the product that’s being offered here is the version that they sent me as a fix, so I would not expect others to have MacBook charging issues with this product. No one asked me to update my review but I’m doing so as a courtesy to say thank you for what is now a fully functional product and some top-notch customer service.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I use this product as a travel charger, because it’s light and compact. Honestly seemed like the perfect thing, but there is no reliable way to use it to charge my MacBook Pros (16″ M1, M3, and M4—tested on all three machines). Even though the MacBook Pros are happy to sip tiny amounts of power from small chargers (I’ve done so with chargers down to 30W), when I connect them to this charger using the power cable that comes with the computer, they connect and disconnect many times in rapid succession. It’s as if the computer starts getting power, and then gets dropped repeatedly by the charger. Sometimes, after 4 or 5 tries (10 seconds or so), it starts charging. Most times, it just connects and disconnects over and over again. Sometimes, it starts, only to resume this connect/disconnect cycle an hour later, or in the middle of the night. Can’t imagine this is good for the computer.I can only assume that this is a problem with the controller chip inside the adapter. I own THREE of these adapters, and the same problem happens with all of them. I’ve tried using different cables, plugging things in in a different order. No reliable solution. I’m not pleased.

    Poor design, potentially dangerous
While this is a clever design, they’ve done a very poor job of isolating the input voltage from the output. I used this on a recent trip to Europe and the first time I plugged it in to an outlet, the USB-C cable that I had connected became charged – giving sharp “tingles” along the entire cable. When I plugged the cable into my laptop, the entire shell of the laptop was now giving small shocks.Because there is no ground on this adapter, the shield on the outputs isn’t properly grounded, instead left to “float”. Because the internal circuit doesn’t correctly isolate between input and output, it could mean that there’s a residual high voltage on the ground / shield wire of the output cable. If you touch that cable with one hand and a properly grounded device (or grounded plumbing fixtures) with the other, your body could become a conduit for current from the high voltage to ground.I found that by reversing the direction the adapter was plugged in, it lowered the stray current significantly, which again indicates that the device does not properly isolate input from output.Perhaps just a bad unit? I purchased two of them for the trip (both as a backup and because I have a lot of USB-C devices) and both behaved the same way. Note that the product doesn’t have UL/CSA listing, which should serve as a warning that the product wouldn’t pass safety testing.
