Great value!
After researching several different drones, i decided to buy this one, the Holy Stone HS110G…. it was given as a gift from my mother to my son.The directions and assembly were decent and easy.I love the fact that it has a return to home feature, and Auto takeoff and landing. My son is 10 years old, and this is his first drone.The app is simple to use, and the picture quality is great.CONS:My only complaint so far is the batteries….. the kit comes with 2 batteries, which have approx 10-13 min of run time each, which is not horrible…. but to charge the batteries, they need to be in the drone…. the drone is the charger. This is very inconvenient. I saw on Holy Stones website that there is a Charging Hub, with room for 2 Batteries, but Amazon says it is Unavailabe, and not sure if it will become availabe. I noticed that other models offer a USB plug port on the battery itself, this is not an option with these batteries.Overall, i feel this is a great choice for a kid/teen/adult first drone.

Missing items – FIXED. Revised review
** Original review: This is false advertising. The company significantly changed this product offering but did not change the description. I assume cost-cutting. The item comes with only one battery – it says two on here. Pretty useless without an extra battery. They carrying case has also been eliminated. Carrying it around with out a case is a recipe for damage. Returning the product – I can get a similar drone with extra batteries and carrying case.***So – that happened. I was contacted by a customer rep from the company and offered replacement with 2 batteries and a case, as originally advertised. And yes, it was delivered as promised. Test fpre bhis is great customer service – very responsive.Anyway, once I got the replacement drone, I set it up relatively easily. Tried around the yard. It was a cold and windy day – not the best for drones. But this drone – a bit shaky in wind – did quite well and it is easy to control. The quality of the video is excellent when seen on an iPhone. Very high quality and clear. For me, this is an excellent drone for beginners if you want to practice and learn how to effectively use a drone. This drone has all features of more expensive drones – the difference will be in ruggedness and construction.Excellent drone for beginners at a great price.

Great Beginner Drone – Not for Children
I recently purchased the Holy Stone HS110G as my first drone. I researched as best I could and there seem to be several good options. For around $150 this seems to be a very good option. I’ve flown the drone a few times and here are my thoughts:Pros:- The drone has many videos to demonstrate how to fly the drone (HolyStone and YouTube)- The iPhone app and instructions work well setup for controlling the drone- The drone has a “Beginner” mode that limits the height and distance of flight- The Auto-takeoff and Return to Home work amazingly well. The drone will land within 3′ of where it took off.- The video/pictures are pretty good quality (1080p) – again $150 – you’re not getting all the bells and whistles- The drone comes with 2 batteries and spare propellers- Customer service is pretty good, you usually have to wait a day between emails, but they do respond and do try to be helpful- It was easy to fly in Beginner mode and you can gain flying confidence using this mode- It flies well even in 5-10mph windCons:- The batteries take about 2 hours to charge with the USB cable. Flying time is around 13 minutes per battery- My camera won’t record to the SD card, I’ve emailed Customer Service and they are sending me a new camera. I’ll update this review once I receive it. It will record (not as high quality) videos and pictures to my iPhone. What I have learned is the MicroSD card needs to be Class 10 and formatted as FAT32 to work- The drone doesn’t come with a case any longer. You need some kind of case/box to transport and store the droneEveryone says and it’s true, learn to fly the drone in a large wide-open space (without trees). I have been to a sports park with baseball/football fields and a school field.This is not a drone for children.I’m very happy with the drone as my first drone, it’s easy to fly and Customer Support is responsive.I’ll update this post after I try some of the other advanced features like map mode and follow me.

Great product great price easy to fly
The unit came totally assembled out of the box, I just had to plug in the battery pack and go.Both battery packs and the transmitter were almost at top capacity and didn’t take too long to charge all three.The instruction booklet was written in plain English and I was able to follow along with the instructions to complete all the calibrations prior to flight.Today was a very cold and windy day and I was concerned of having an out of control drone being swept into the trees. After getting somewhat use to the controls I was amazed at the HS110G stability in flight…the unit held fairly steady in the wind and I was able to control it without incident.I wasn’t really watching but I believe the flight time was around the estimated 13 minutes as stated in the manual. Toward the end of the flight time the unit started flashing indicating low battery and it actually returned to the original take off point within a foot or so.I believe this unit is very well made and operates as indicated in the manual. It is very stable in flight and responds to the transmitter’s commands instantaneously. The camera/video controls on the transmitter make pictures/video a breeze.The only issue I have is the phone holder on the transmitter doesn’t securely hold my SE Iphone otherwise this is a very good product.
