Unlocking pure joy

Great Smart Lock that works well and reasonably priced
The eufy Security Smart Lock C30 was easy to install and very easy to use. The quality of the lock is excellent. It is easy to control the lock from the phone app. I installed two of these locks in my home two weeks ago and they are working flawlessly. The price for this lock is reasonable and the phone app is easy to use and works very well. I recommend this lock to anyone who is looking for a quality smart lock that isn’t overly expensive.

Easy set up for the girlies.
I had a pretty bad allergic reaction that made me stay in the hospital for a few hours and no one had the keys to my apartment to keep an eye on my dogs. Decided to get this just in case I had another incident of the sort. Ordered it from Amazon and it never arrived but I ended up getting it in person and it has been the best purchase I’ve ever made. The set up was easy, the lock functions well and it looks fancy. Only downside that it has is that it doesn’t have battery included. However, I bought the rechargeable batteries and the battery last for almost 3 weeks. Im 27, live by myself, and I was able to install it without help.

Great product. Good value. I installed it myself – I didn’t time it, but it was actually really quick. Works as it should, no problems at all. It’s been on our front door for some time now, I’m thinking about getting another to replace the side door lock. The smart features are pretty cool, although I don’t use them very often.

Battery Life Is Horrible!
I purchased this smart lock by Eufy because I also have one of the security camera’s by Eufy. I like the convenience of having one app to control both devices, which is one of the reasons I went with this particular brand. The smart lock itself is great, It was easy to install, and set up through the app. The reason for this review is, the battery life is horrible! I didn’t notice in the description if it specified which type of batteries to use, whether it be alkaline or lithium. The first couple of times I used alkaline batteries, I was lucky if they lasted two weeks before having to change them out. I then decided to try lithium batteries as a family member suggested they will last a lot longer. Well, I purchased some lithium batteries, which I may add are not cheap, and not even 4 weeks after I installed them, I am having to replace the batteries once again. The smart lock was purchased in November, and I am now having to replace the batteries for the 5th time in 3 months. Upon checking a few other options for smart locks I noticed this is a recurring issue. I guess the only option I have at this point, is to do some research to find a smart lock with a much longer battery life, as replacing batteries that frequently can get to be rather expensive.

Simple, effective. But…
This is a mixed bag. I’ve had 2 of these for a little over a month now. One on the front door and one on the back door. Ironically, the back door sees more use and traffic than the front door. That said, the front door has already killed a set of batteries. I used a set when I first installed it and it was dead within 2 days. Thinking maybe I used not so fresh batteries, I installed another fresh set. We are not even at 6 weeks and those are dead. The back door still shows its at full battery life. So one works great and the other does not I guess. So take the reviews with a grain of salt on battery life because so far my results are 50/50. Other than that,Installation is easy if you have installed a door lock or two.Setup in app takes a second but works.Interface is pretty simple and straight forward, set up wifi. Firmware updates. Set up a few pass codes. And set your auto lock feature, etc.Overall im pleased with their quality. I wish there was a more straight forward answer on how to re-key them so I can get all my locks to match a set of keys. That hasn’t been figured out yet, but I also havent had the time to look into it. But next I will be looking into replacing the battery hog.

A right faff to fit and set up involving creating a large hole in your door. I have an enormous collection of tools, but nothing “standard sized” cut the holes the right size. Then another faff setting it to work with alexa.After 1 day one of the two locks I bought stopped responding. They were both close enough to the router – about 10m with 1 wall between. Other wifi kit farther in the same direction still worked. Batteries measured at 1.2V (brand new, 1 day old!). Not even the keypad would operate the lock. Tried a reset etc … nothing.Locks are about security and trust. Have since removed and am looking to return both locks – leaving big holes in 2 ruined expensive doors.

Great product, easy installation, but expect to replace the batteries a couple of times during the yearPros:- Physical buttons work great even with winter gloves (for me this is a huge advantage over touchscreen-type locks)- Can check and lock the door remotely- Easy to use and install- You get a notification if the door fails to lockCons:- Batteries need to be replaced every ~3 monthsUsage tips:- You can turn off the lock sound using the app- For security, you can type a longer password and include the real password in it, like: 123102045 (1020 being the real password)
