Might need some help from an adult
Gave these as a gift to a seven year old boy who likes building things. Mom said it kept him busy for an afternoon. He needed some adult help, so I wouldn’t count on this being an independent project unless your kid is a little older, but overall I’d absolutely buy again.

Bought for classroom science. Practiced assembling one with son. Easy to assemble. Sometimes a bit fussy with putting screws into holes. glad the screw driver is magnetic. Works well in full sun. Fun toy for a few hours and to have dialogue about pro’s and con’s of solar power.

A little finicky, but works great
Something fun for my 7yo to work on and get her outside. An adult or older kid definitely need to help with some of the assembly, and you need to make sure the part for the axel isn’t too tight or the wheel will not turn.

Terribly difficult to assemble. Too small clearance for screws to attach, making it extremely difficult for an 11 year old.

Fun to build, disappointing to test
My students had a great time building the cars. They were able to work collaboratively and were sooooo excited to see their cars run. After checking to ensure they were built correctly, we went outside to test them in the sun. Many of the cars did not work. They motor ran but it was as if the gear was too big and putting too much pressure on the motor to the point that it would not run. I likely will not buy this product again.
