Arris Cable Router Modem — couldn’t be more pleased
I needed to replace my Arris Router and was determined to get another from the same manufacturer. This one was just as presented by the seller and has been working reliably, just like its predecessor. The seller was easy to work with, got the router to me promptly, and it was just as advertised. I appreciated the moderate price, as well as the compact size of the unit. Simple-looking, streamlined, powerful, with a sufficient signal strength, despite the fact that reception in my apartment can be iffy. I would certainly recommend this seller as well as this product.

Working; but slow service
Set us was ok; had to call service provider. I do not have cell service in area of router so it is a challenge. Speed is very slow but I think that is service provider and not router.

Yes, it works with COX
I can’t speak to the performance yet, as I just activated it. I connected the modem/router and cable, then reached out to COX through their mobile app to provide the necessary details. The first representative said it wasn’t compatible, so I ended that chat and started another—this time, I had no issues.

Great investment
So far so good. Got tired of being charged for the modem /router rental by my network provider. Decided to install this gadget for some long-term cost savings. It was easy to set up and it’ll pay for itself within a year.

Absolute garbage product from a garbage company
tl;dr: This product failed after two months and Arris makes it nearly impossible to replace it under the warranty.I bought this modem to replace another Motorola/Arris model that had served me well for several years. The modem installed easily enough with Comcast, though it was a bit confusing since there are two MAC addresses on the bottom of it, and it wasn’t clear which one to use. So, I had to go through the install process twice. Configuration is pretty easy using the included web interface, so no complaints there. The WiFi signal seemed pretty strong, too, although I ended up adding an access point in the upstairs of my house because it couldn’t quite reach my home office. The modem worked great for about two months. But then about a week ago, my network started dropping out and I would have to reset it multiple times per day (even though the lights on the modem indicated a working connection). (Note: there are a lot of other reviews on here saying the same thing has happened to other people.) Not only that, but my home network would go down, too. The router was basically freezing up. Obviously, even if Comcast was having a problem on their end, that shouldn’t bring my entire network down, right? At this point, I tried a factory reset, but the same thing kept happening. So I called Arris tech support.Long story short, Arris tech support blamed Comcast (saying the signals were too strong), who in turn blamed Arris (and laughed at the notion that they could just “turn the signals down” per Arris’ suggestion). I even put a splitter on the line to get the signal power within the proper range, but it kept happening. The Arris tech tried to blame the wiring and said that I needed to have a technician come out. I pointed out that I would have to pay for that, and that Comcast would likely tell me everything was fine (I have fairly new wiring and very reliable, fast speeds up until last week), and even then, that wouldn’t explain why my internal network kept going down. I asked him what exactly it would take to convince him that it was the modem, and he refused to answer, other than to say we would have to do more troubleshooting. (And honestly, what more troubleshooting can you do other reset it?) At this point, I had spent a couple hours on the phone with Arris and Comcast, and I just gave up (which I think is what they intended) and bought another brand of cable modem, and things have been working fine thus far.

Switched from xfinity’s gateway AUTOMATICALLY!
For heaven’s sake, buy your own modem/router NOW! If I had switched after my introductory pricing ended it would have already paid for itself. Anyways, I was going to wait to post my review but I’m tickled pink. If something goes south and I need to change it later, I’ll do it.I had read all the reviews where people said they had troubles setting it up and I wasn’t looking forward to the aggravation, but all I had to do was plug it in and go to the xfinity activation site listed in the manual and after entering an activation code xfinity sent to my phone my computer displayed “setting up your gateway this could take ten minutes” with a spinning circle. After about 15 minutes I was getting ready to call comcast, but I decided to just open a new tab and see if it would load and it did! After that, all I had to do was go into the router and set up my wifi network. My devices didn’t automatically connect though, but all I had to do was turn off wifi and turn it back on on the devices and they connected with my old security key I had set up again in the new router. No mobile app or call to comcast was necessary at all. There doesn’t seem to be any difference in the speeds of anything either. BUT, there will be soon. After reading another person’s review who suggested it I’m going to try cutting my internet plan down from the performance to the performance starter. (I’m the only one in my household, do I REALLY need 120mbps?) At that point my bill will be less than HALF what it was before.I could kick myself for waiting. I’m just thinking of all the things I could do with an extra three hundred bucks in my pocket if I had done this six months ago!

no problems
Easy enough to setup if you are familiar with tech…it auto connected to Xfinity and worked. I used both the web interface and app; both seem required. Be aware there are some weird things, for instance it auto-changed my password to some random one and I found it only through the app, where I reset it (again and its held). Been going strong for 4 days now, maybe took 20 minutes to setup. I never had to reset it to factory or call anybody’s tech support, so that’s a good thing as far as it’s setup, too. It does not have a remote/WAN access entry !

Loved the idea of reducing clutter and was very easy to install to only realize that Cogeco doesn’t accept it
