It can be unlocked with the Apple home keys by simply tapping an iPhone or Apple Watch, even when the iPhone or Apple Watch is out of power. Moreover, you can manage and share door access for your guests in Apple Home. (NOTE: To share Apple Home Keys, you need an Apple Home Hub)
【Fingerprint and More Ways to Unlock】The Smart Lock U100 offers multiple ways to unlock, including a high-precision fingerprint reader for up to 50 fingerprints, remotely configurable passwords via the Aqara Home app (An Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub is required), one-time local passwords for visitors, and a mechanical key for emergency use. * The NFC card is not included and is sold separately.
【Automations with Aqara and Third-Party Devices】With an Aqara Zigbee 3.0 hub, the Smart Door Lock U100 is compatible with third-party ecosystems like Google Home, Alexa, IFTTT as well as the Aqara Home app, allowing it to be easily integrated into a wide range of smart home setups and used in smart home automations. For example, when someone presses the Aqara Video Doorbell G4, you will be able to view who is at your door and easily unlock the U100.

Alternatively, you can disable this feature and leave the door always open. Also, the Do Not Disturb mode can mute the door lock sounds within a certain period of time, to avoid affecting your family’s sleep when you get back home late.

Very Fast and Reliable
I got the Aqara Smart Lock because it works with Apple HomeKit, and I love the idea of just holding my phone or Apple Watch to unlock my door. It’s super cool and convenient since I always have my phone and Apple Watch with me.Setting it up took a bit longer than I thought it would, but it wasn’t hard—just a little time-consuming. Once I got it up and running, it worked great with Bluetooth. The Bluetooth connection can take a few seconds to connect when I’m close to the lock, so it’s not instant. But once it connects, I can see logs of who opened or closed the door and control the lock. You really need the Aqara hub if you want to check logs or control the lock away from home. I ended up getting the Aqara Smart Hub E1, which is the cheapest one I could find. It took a bit of work to connect it to my Wi-Fi since it only works on 2.4GHz. I had to temporarily disable the 5GHz band on my Eero router, but thankfully, the Eero app made that easy. It disabled the antenna for 30 minutes, which was more than enough time to finish the setup.Make sure you set it up in the Aqara app first before syncing it with HomeKit. I accidentally tried to set it up in HomeKit first, and that caused the Aqara app to not recognize it, so don’t make the same mistake I did!Once the hub was connected, the lock connected super quickly, much faster than with just Bluetooth. You do have the option of controlling the lock with just an Apple HomeKit hub like an Apple TV or iPad without using the Aqara hub at all, but having the Aqara hub is way better. It gives you faster connections and access to all the management tools while away from home, unlike HomeKit, which only lets you lock and unlock it remotely. So if you just care about unlocking and locking while away from home and already have an Apple TV as a hub, then you technically don’t need the Aqara hub as well.Overall, I really recommend the Aqara Smart Lock. It’s the fastest operating lock I’ve ever used, the fingerprint sensor is the most accurate I’ve seen, and it’s been extremely reliable. It has so many ways of opening it that my family finds it very convenient. I love this lock, and I hope it continues to work well for many years.

Easy to install works great!
Fairly easy to install (hardest part was uninstalling the old one). Once installed, quickly connects with Apple Homekit. A pleasure to use. Auto locks when door in closed, nice feature. Can be opened quickly from the inside (of course) and, when outside, it can be opened with a fingerprint (10 per individual allowed), number code, holding iPhone close to the lock, using a key (if batteries die). All have worked flawlessly, the first time. Highly recommend this lock.

Finally a smart lock that gets it right!
I’ve been using this smart lock for a few months now, and I’m impressed! After installing it on my front door and using it for a few weeks, I liked it so much that I decided to “upgrade” my back door too, so I bought a second one.Pros:1. Premium LookIt looks rich, if you know what I mean. Sleek, minimalistic design. I went with the dark color, and it looks amazing!2. Solid Build QualityThe lock feels premium and sturdy, definitely not a flimsy gadget. It fit perfectly on my existing deadbolt with no issues.3. Accurate Fingerprint SensorThe fingerprint sensor works well. not quite as fast as on Android phones, but still very quick and reliable. You can create multiple users in the app and assign several fingerprints per user. This feature alone is a game-changer for me!4. Battery LifeI’ve been using it for 5 months with the original batteries, and the app still shows the battery level as “High.” That’s impressive and gives me confidence in its energy efficiency.5. Flexible Unlock OptionsI can unlock it using my fingerprint, keypad, NFC tag, Apple Home Key, or remotely via the app (note: a hub is required for remote access). It’s incredibly convenient, especially when my hands are full or I’m not home.I also love the ability to create temporary passcodes or grant short-term access to my daughter’s friends or delivery drivers directly from the app.It integrates seamlessly with Apple HomeKit, a big plus for me.6. Auto-Lock DetectionThe deadbolt automatically detects when the door is closed and locks itself, no need to remember to lock the door manually. Very convenient!7. Easy InstallationThe installation was very easy and straightforward, thanks to the step-by-step video guide in the app. I highly recommend downloading the Aqara app and using it during setup — it makes the process simple and smooth.Cons (More Like Wishlist Items):1. App Learning CurveThe app is packed with features, which is great, but it lacks clear explanations for many of the settings. It took me some time to figure out what each toggle and option actually did. That said, the default settings work just fine, but I like to explore everything and had to spend some time doing so.2. User Access SharingGranting access to other users is a bit clunky. It requires them to create their own Aqara account, which isn’t ideal. I wish there were a simpler way to provide temporary access without requiring account registration.3. Auto-Lock SensitivityOccasionally, the auto-lock feature triggers unintentionally. For example, if someone accidentally touches the lock. It’s not a big issue, but I hope they improve the detection algorithm in future firmware updates.Bottom line: All of the negatives I listed are minor and more like nitpicks or wishlist items rather than actual problems.Overall, I highly recommend this lock to anyone looking to upgrade to a modern smart lock without compromising on security or convenience!

The Aqara Smart Lock U100 is an excellent lock. I replaced a similar lock from a legacy vendor that didn’t work as expected and lacked integration with Apple Home. The legacy lock was also more expensive. The Aqara lock connected seamlessly to my Apple Home network, which was fantastic. I quickly programmed user codes and several fingerprints in just a few minutes. The process was intuitive and efficient. I’ve set it up to lock automatically with Apple Home automation at a specific time at night, while also turning off various lights. The lock looks great and operates smoothly when opening and closing. The keypad works well, allowing me to enter user codes, use the fingerprint sensor, or open the lock with our Apple Watches and iPhones. This versatility is impressive.I’m now considering replacing many of my home security devices with Aqara devices because I’m so impressed with this lock and its integration with Apple Home.I highly recommend the Aqara Smart Lock U100.

I bought this product a few months ago. At first, it worked perfectly fine, and I installed it on my main door. However, after a short while, it started showing errors and stopped functioning properly. The door wouldn’t open or close as it should, and I ended up being locked out several times.Unfortunately, I received no real help or support — only generic replies telling me to update the software online. The customer service is nonexistent. You’ll just be creating problems for yourself if you buy this product. Don’t waste your money — you’ll regret it. My advice is to choose a product that actually provides reliable customer support.
