Fantastic STEM Kit That Keeps Kids Engaged for Hours — Perfect Gift for Curious Minds!
I recently received a lot of STEM and building sets to test, and I have to say this 5-in-1 STEM Robotics Building Kit really stands out for its quality, creativity, and educational value. I got it as a gift for my 8-year-old nephew, and it was a total hit — he absolutely loved it! It’s one of those sets that truly captures a child’s attention and keeps them learning while having fun.The kit includes 560 pieces, which sounds intimidating at first, but everything comes neatly packaged and labeled. The instructions are clear and easy to follow, with detailed diagrams that guide you through each of the five possible robot builds. The variety is great — from vehicles to walking robots — and it’s awesome that the parts are compatible with Lego bricks, so my nephew was able to mix in some of his own pieces for even more customization. One of the best parts is that the robot can be controlled through an app or with the included remote control, which adds a modern tech twist to traditional building toys. The app setup was surprisingly simple; it connected via Bluetooth in seconds. My nephew loved driving the robot around, experimenting with movement controls, and even trying out basic coding functions. It’s a great introduction to STEM principles like engineering, problem-solving, and basic programming without feeling like “schoolwork.”This kit definitely takes up a lot of time, but in the best way possible. It’s the kind of activity that encourages patience, focus, and creativity — all while keeping kids off screens. We spent nearly three hours building the first robot, and he was totally engrossed the entire time. Watching his excitement as he got it moving for the first time was priceless. From a quality standpoint, the pieces fit together snugly, and the motors and sensors worked flawlessly. The materials feel durable enough to hold up to repeated use, which is important for kids who like to build, take apart, and rebuild. The battery life is solid too — long enough for several play sessions before needing a recharge.I also love that it’s educational without being overwhelming. Kids get to experiment, explore robotics, and see the cause-and-effect relationship between programming and movement. It really encourages logical thinking and hands-on learning.Overall, this is a fantastic STEM kit and makes a perfect Christmas or birthday gift for kids ages 8–14. It strikes the right balance between fun and educational value. Whether your child loves building, coding, or just exploring how things work, this set delivers hours of entertainment and learning in one box. I highly recommend this kit and give it a 10/10.

Excellent Motorized Build with Great Play Value
This was a very fun kit to build. I chose option 4, the armored vehicle, and it was an absolute blast. The instructions were clear, detailed, and easy to follow. The pieces were simple to identify, and everything fit together well. Stickers were easy to apply and not overwhelming in number. I did not encounter any missing pieces, which made the build even smoother.I really liked that the motor is built inside the vehicle and uses a USB C rechargeable battery. The remote does require a couple of AAA batteries, but that was not a big deal. Once assembled, the remote paired quickly and worked perfectly with the model. The tracked wheels performed best on carpet, and the vehicle handled surprisingly well. I did not try the optional app controls, but it is a nice feature to have.Overall this is a great value for the price and a fantastic kit for the recommended age range.

It’s basically a remote control car
This is a pretty neat building set. It’s a clone of Lego technic and feels very much the same. The battery pack charged up with a regular usb adapter and the controller paired up with no issues.I did not download the programming software and try the app, so I’ve got no information on that.Overall though, it’s basically a remote controlled car and not a “robot”. The arm cannons spin as it drives by the use of gears hooked to the wheels (they do not spin independently) but the claw arm is only poseable; not remote controlled. The eyes do not light up and the head is mostly fixed in position. The “robotics” aspect of this is purely decorative. Maybe the app would add some patrol movement options and whatnot, but it’s still just a remote controlled car.The one star off is because I’m not sure how great it’s going to disassemble to build the other models. The first few steps were kinda iffy.I took a few pieces apart and the connectors are unusually tight at some sections and not totally tight at others of the same style, so I’m not sure if I’ll end up damaging the tight pieces using pliers to get them apart. I squished a couple of the barrel connectors a little trying to get them undone and they were a bit tough to get back into their connecting holes. I’ve been building and disassembling Lego for decades, so I know what it’s capable of doing as a clone. And sometimes the name brand needs pliers too, but I’ve not had anything squish on that.Assembled as the main advertised robot model, a few parts rattled loose and popped off just while driving it on hardwood floors and rug edges. So, longevity is questionable with the identical pieces not fitting exactly the same as eachother.I tried the remote out to about 30 feet or so down a hallway and didn’t lose signal. It is pretty zippy and responds to the controller almost immediately. The robot has low ground clearance so it was tough going over the rug edge sometimes. I’ll have to tweak it maybe or just build something with higher clearance. It’s a neat remote controlled toy, but calling it a robotics kit is a bit of a stretch. The fun is there and it’s a neat build with interesting methods to get some of the shapes finished.

As someone who tests a lot of toys, I was genuinely impressed by the quality of this robotics kit right out of the box. The parts feel solid and well-made, with smooth edges throughout — no sharp bits or rough burrs that cheaper building sets sometimes have. You can tell this isn’t a rushed product.Fair warning though: despite the 6+ age recommendation, this is definitely on the challenging side. My kids needed me involved for a good chunk of the assembly, especially for the first model. It’s complex, with 560 pieces that require patience and attention to the instructions. But here’s the thing — that complexity is actually what made it so rewarding. When we finally got the robot moving, the sense of accomplishment was huge. Way more satisfying than simpler snap-together toys. The instruction manual deserves credit here. It’s genuinely detailed and easy to follow, which made the tricky parts manageable. Once assembled, the app control is surprisingly responsive—no frustrating lag or connectivity issues. What really blew me away was how well these robots handle different surfaces. We tested on carpet, hardwood floors, gravel in the driveway, and even dirt in the backyard, and it powered through everything without getting stuck.Battery life is solid too — 50 minutes of continuous play gives plenty of time before needing a recharge. For kids who love building and robotics, this hits the sweet spot between challenge and fun. Just plan to be involved in the build process. Highly recommend!

  5. Customer Review

This 5-in-1 STEM robotics kit makes an incredible gift for curious kids, and has been an absolute hit with my young son. He has an inquisitive, engineering mind, and this kit has offered endless hours of fun and hands-on education as he built a robot, tank, vehicles and a forklift. The variety of the builds will keep your kid engaged and challenged, with each model teaching different mechanics. One of the coolest features is the ability to control the robots via the mobile app (or remote), which allows them to bring their creation to life. Overall, this robotics kit is a perfect blend of both play and education, and will teach children about robotics, coding and engineering in a playful, but meaningful way. This is highly recommended for young builders and aspiring engineers.

To begin with, I would like to address the age range printed on the box for this set. 560 pieces with 157 steps to build the robot is a little too complex for a 6 year-old. If you look at a comparable difficulty level from another popular brand, this should be set at 9 or 10+, not 6. However, when you read the text in the listing, the recommended age range is said to be from 8 to 14, which is much more realistic. The only problem is that they also mention that this item is for boys. Duh! Come on people, we are in 2025 and toys should not be gender labeled. All the pieces are well packaged and the bags are numbered to help with the sorting. When I opened the motor block’s bag, the piece was oily (as shown in the picture) and I had to discard the bag because the inside was oily too. I like that it comes with the little screwdriver to remove the battery cover of the remote control. I have not opened all the bags, nor assembled anything because this is a Christmas present for my 10 YO grandson who lives with me.The instructions are composed of illustrations only (Sweden store-like), no text. They seem very clear and easy to follow.I will update this review after Christmas if it turns out that the mechanism does not work properly or that there are missing pieces.Aside from the age rating on the box and the little oil puddles on the motor block, everything looks great.

This 5-in-1 STEM Robotics Building Kit is super fun! My 5-year-old fell in love with it at first sight. Of course, it’s a bit too complex for him to build on his own, so it became dad’s job—and honestly, my husband had a great time building it too!The set includes one smart module and many building blocks, which can be arranged in five different ways: a robot, cannons tank, armored tracked vehicle, armored vehicle, and forklift. My child chose to build the armored vehicle, and it took my husband a whole afternoon, so it’s definitely a fun and time-consuming project in a good way.The remote control works perfectly, though my husband couldn’t get the app to download, possibly due to compatibility issues with our phone. Not a big deal since the remote works fine.My husband said the quality is great—all pieces fit smoothly and are well-designed. And, of course, our child loves it! At $69.99 CAD, this set is great value; if it were LEGO, it would probably cost much more.

Did this set with my nephew who is about to turn 10, and I think we both had a lot of fun during those 2 hours. The instructions are incredibly easy to follow, just like the building bricks brand. They pieces go together very well and setting up with the app for controls is so much fun. Although I’m always a little cautious with installing random apps from unknown companies. On the controls you can do a little bit of programming for it to do a little dance. It’s a great kit to kill some time for an afternoon, but I guess afterwards it’s just a RC toy or a nice decoration for your shelf unless you decide to take it apart and build it the other ways. Don’t expect it to be a crazy robot with many controls though, it’s just the tracks that moves, there’s no separate controls for any other body parts.
