Now works. Found solution for M4 MacBook Pro connection for external monitor
For the price – this is five stars.If you have the MacBook Pro with M4 chip – and use Tahoe 26.1, my solution might help you with your external monitor not seeming to work.Problem:MacBook Pro M4 (2024) running macOS Tahoe 26.1 ….Connecting to Yxk 15.6” external monitor ….Using USB-C alone. (FAIL)Monitor received power, but couldn’t be found in System Settings > Display. (Tried using each port on macbook and monitor – no success .Next-Partial Success:Plugged Mini-HDMI cable and USB-C both.Monitor still had power.Finally System Settings > Display let me choose the external monitor. I set it to “extend.”Cursor could move off-screen, but display remained black or flashed briefly.FULL SOLUTION:BOTH cables USB-C and Mini-HDMI MUST be lugged into the same side of your MacBook pro. It matters that they are on the SAME SIDE. THEN, the external monitor worked as intended.• Mini-HDMI for video• USB-C for powerWhen I search for WHY this works … I was told this: “same-side port usage — is likely tied to how Apple’s M4 handles bus/controller paths under the hood.”Hope it helps someone else!As for the monitor, it works for my needs just right. I need it to hold things to the side of my main screen that aren’t color critical for my work. The MacBook Pro retina display is like looking at a vibrant RBG image …. the little YKX is like looking at the same image converted to CMYK (colors become a little muddy – loss of gamut) and the brightness is like it is turned down a few pegs. It is NOT a deal breaker for me. For this price? I’m happy!!!PS: I did go into System Settings > Displays > PM1562 (this monitor) and chose color profile named sRGB IEC61966-2.1 instead of the one named PM1562 that the makers supplied. I felt the sRBG option gave me more detail in the midtones. Very modest difference, but I prefer it.PPS: Sound: I don’t think I get any sound through this monitor even using the port on the side. This isn’t a problem for me, but maybe it matters to someone else.I’d buy this again. If it fails – I will update this space. I’m on day one November 13, 2025.

Using with an S25 Ultra and Samsung Dex, works great and is very portable.
Ordered while it was discounted, and according to the description it seemed to be what I wanted. Now that I’ve gotten the monitor, a few questions were answered. I’ll share them here: The monitor has 2 USB-C ports, both support power delivery and video/audio. It has a single mini HDMI. It comes with a full featured USB-C cable (It will carry power, video and audio; normal charging cables do not) and an HDMI to mini-HDMI cable. I have this monitor hooked up to my S25 Ultra so it shows Samsung Dex mode. The chain goes from my power brick, through a regular USB-C power cable to one of the USB-C ports on the monitor, and the other USB-C port to my phone using the included full featured cable. This setup not only provides power to the monitor but my phone as well, while simultaneously showing the DeX output from the phone to the monitor. Add in a bluetooth mouse and keyboard and I’ve got a full laptop experience. It does have speakers on the back of the monitor, and my phone also plays audio, if I’m watching a video. It’s perfectly synchronized and the speakers complement each other for great volume and clarity. The monitor itself is very lightweight and definitely bright enough for indoor use with the default brightness at 70 and default contrast at 50. I’ve not seen any reason to change it. I watched Star Trek: Into Darkness via Paramount Plus via my phone, as it has great scenes with bright colors and fast movement, and was impressed. Viewing angle is clear and distortion free even when looking from the very edge, proving it’s a quality IPS panel. The description does state HDR compatibility, and the option is there in the on-screen controls, but I don’t know to what standard it is compliant with. For the price, you can’t expect much in the way of HDR. But as a general portable monitor, I’m quite happy with it. Oh, and no dead pixels, that is important to note also.

Very cool monitor for a great price.
Got the 14 inch 2.2k 1400p monitor. This is a very cool monitor. I’m surprised it’s so inexpensive. It needs USB power, and then either USB or HDMI to connect to your computer. It came with one USBC cable and one HDMI cable. It has speakers, though they are nothing too amazing. The color and brightness are good. It’s perfect for sitting next to my laptop.

This is a great product, the only concern i gave is when you prop up the monitor, it sits back too far. It should have where you can have different levels on how you would like it to sit up. It’s to connect. Its literally plug and play! Love it.

This little monitor is shockingly good for the price.Colors are bright, text is sharp, glare isn’t even that bad. I was expecting a real washed out picture, but bought it for the kids to watch videos on so wasn’t really worried about it. It would actually be passible as a portable gaming screen for a mini pc or handheld.Comes with a usb-c to usb-c cable and a HDMI to HDMI mini cable.Plugged into my phone with the usb-c and it supplied power and displayed a picture in seconds.

Bought this item as a similarly affordable alternative to another portable monitor. Th first of which failed within a month of purchase. In less than 10 days, this product similarly failed, and in the middle of the workday resulted in a total blackout and loss of function. Following all of the logical troubleshooting, this product remained completely dead. Just gone from one second to the next. Regrettably disappointing, as I genuinely appreciate the concept and its practicality for individuals who often work remotely. However, I regrettably have to report the reliability of this product is terrible and I recommend you find an alternative from a brand with a longer standing and more positive reputation in reliability.
