YOU’VE GOT ENOUGH ON YOUR PLATE, let Yale get the door with the Yale Assure Lock 2. With multiple ways to unlock, the ability to easily share and track entry codes and advanced Auto-Lock with DoorSense(R), this Wi-Fi smart lock gives you one less thing to worry about. With built-in Wi-Fi, you can easily check that the door is locked, see if the dog walker came on time and receive a notification when the kids get home from school when you’re away from home, using the Yale Access App.
KEY-FREE ACCESS, YOUR WAY: Everyone that needs access can choose their own way to unlock, whether it’s the keypad, voice assistant, Auto-Unlock or the Yale Access App on your smartphone or Apple Watch. Note: This product only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and in the U.S. and Canada.
NO LOCKSMITH NEEDED: The lock replaces your deadbolt on most standard US entry doors using just a screwdriver; no DIY experience required.
DON’T WORRY, IT’S LOCKED: Never worry again about remembering to lock the door. Yale can be set to Auto-Lock once DoorSense detects that the door is closed.
NOT HOME. USE THE APP: We know that even when you’re not home, it’s still on your mind, and your to-do list. Lock-up, let someone in, receive notifications and share access from anywhere using the Yale Access App.
HANDS FULL? NO PROBLEM. A door that auto-unlocks as you approach – now that’s a warm welcome. With this hands-free option, you don’t need to touch your lock or your phone. Always let Yale get the door.

Great lock, very configurable, batteries last months
These locks are a game changer. I almost never carry keys with me and I don’t ever fear locking myself out of the house. You can put a number of codes for different people in it. Which is great if you have service people (dog walkers, house cleaners, etc) regularly coming to your house. The lock can join wifi so you can remotely administer it. The manufacturer says that can impact battery life (more frequent battery changes). That might be true, but even on wifi, batteries last about 5 months for us. Remote management came in HUGE for us when we were away on vacation and a dog sitter hired through Rover failed to show up. When she finally did she didn’t even walk our dog and (I’m not lying) stole food out of our freezer and fridge. We were able to delete her code so she couldn’t get back in the house and luckily found a neighbor to take in our dog while we were gone. Thanks to the logging this lock does and a security camera we have installed we were able to piece together her neglect. This lock is fairly easy to install if you have any sort of mechanical aptitude. If you can’t turn a screw driver you’ll probably find it complicated. The instructions are good and are fairly easy to follow. One complaint I do have: when we added a second lock there wasn’t a way to apply codes already assigned to a person on the first lock to the second. In fact, you didn’t even see the second lock under that person’s profile. The work around was to delete their profile/account and then re-add. Once I added them back both locks appeared. This likely isn’t a huge issue for most people, but if you have a bunch of people already keyed in with codes/accounts for the first lock you installed, needing to delete them to simply add them back in so their code/account can see the second lock is annoying. You can have different codes and limitations on entry (restricted to only certain days or times) for the same person on different locks. That’s nice if you want your dog walker to be able to enter your front door, but not your separate in-law suite for example. Being able to restrict entry to only certain days/times is a really nice feature too. So, you can only allow someone in between 10am and 2pm M-F (not weekends) if you wanted. All in all I love this lock and gladly give is 5 stars. Hopefully they fix the account issue with a second lock down the road via an app update. If not, the workaround isn’t too onerous.

Works with HomeAssistant via cloud integration easily
I have had this installed for about 3 weeks and so far, it is great! Installation was as easy as taking the old lock out and screwing the new unit into place and without surprises. I am using the WiFi integration to connect it via Cloud to my HomeAssistant instance and it updates HA within 1-2 seconds of a command/event. The iOS app is easy to use to configure and share to other household members as well as guests where you can choose to give them access via app or SMS/Email a passcode, which you can specify parameters like lifetime and schedule. I like that you can give separate individuals their own codes and review their access in the app. If it flakes out, I will be sure to update my review, but as of yet, this is a recommend over my decade-old kwickset without any smart features.

Doesn’t play with other apps – no help available
I had the keyless version (which I loved) but had a user who needed a physical key, so bought the key version. It took me about 10 minutes to do the physical swap.I broke a nail trying to insert the plug — it’s at a terrible angle. The battery compartment is the single worse I’ve encountered – I felt I was going to break the battery cover prying it up, and it’s a weird configuration to save vertical space, but requires inserting them two deep — I hope the batteries last a long time! There are components including a “smart module” and “doorsense” that has two options of installation – neither are explained (I later learned the smart module is how the lock can connect to Wi-Fi and doorsense can determine if the door is open or closed).Setting up the Yale app was a breeze, but that’s when it all went south. I struggled connecting to any other app. My other Yale – which seemed the exact same just keyless – seamlessly connected to Alexa and Google Nest – Alexa won’t let me enable the skill because it can’t log into the Yale app (I reset my email and password, and still nothing). Google won’t let me install without using Nest, and the lock isn’t compatible with Nest. It says it’s compatible with HomeKit, but Apple killed HoneKit and I couldn’t connect. There’s just no way connecting a lock to any of these should be hard. Waited for 10 minutes on Support which said they had a one minute hold time – I give up.If you need a keyed lock or are okay using only the Yale app for remote entry, this is fine. If you want to integrate with your smart home get a different lock altogether — the keyless version works.

I absolutely love the Yale Assure Lock 2 with Wi-Fi – Oil Rubbed Bronze Smart Lock! Installation was straightforward, and the sleek design instantly upgraded the look of my front door. The keypad is responsive, backlit, and easy to use, while the Wi-Fi connectivity lets me lock and unlock the door remotely with peace of mind. Seems to work fine for me in Australia, although I do have the ability to download US App Store apps as I used to live there and have an account still – has anyone tried creating an account in the US App Store? Another thing to try: I noticed that the app is exactly the same as the app used by my August door lock – in fact when I added the lock to the Yale Access app, it also added it to the August lock app and both work interchangeably – might be work try as a back door hack.

Do NOT purchase this item unless you have a US or Canadian mobile number. This product can only be activated using a US and Canadian mobile number.I contacted Yale support and they advised that Amazon Germany should NOT be selling this item. The Yale support could not activate the lock for me since it is NOT part of the European product range. Do not be fooled by the shop front Amazon Germany are showing. It is NOT a yale shop, as confirmed by Yale contact support. Amazon Germany offered that I can return the product, however I had already installed the lock and made the necessary holes in the door.
