Well made, protects the port well
My car was stolen (and recovered) a few months ago and it is equipped a push button start. I didn’t realize how easy it is to clone the key fob for these cars and always kept my fobs in a Faraday box, figuring that I was safe from a potential thief. Its wasn’t until I got my car back that I was told that thieves can also clone the fobs using the OBD II port.I looked at others before buying this one – it’s pricey for sure, but worth it for the peace of mind as far as I’m concerned. I have a standard port on my car and it’s mounted under the dash and not enclosed. I found installation easy, although at first it seemed a bit mysterious as to how this thing stays in place. Once you start trying to put it on it becomes pretty apparent though. Take note that if you have the type of port connector that is enclosed this may not fit. What I like about this lock is that it’s metal and the fact that it uses an actual key, not just an allen key like a lot of others use. Anyone can get an allen key of the correct size but this is a unique key and not all of the locks come keyed the same – so it would be very difficult for someone to get a hold of the key. This lock completely encloses and protects the OBD II port and I can see no way to remove it without destroying the port connector, which, of course, would render the port useless anyway. I had no idea that there was such a thing as an OBD port lock and I’m glad I found this one. Highly recommended.

A good metal OBD2 port lock with custom security screws
A good quality OBD2 port lock made of billet aluminum that is anodized in red. I see some plastic made OBD port locks and would say to stay away from those. Some are even poorly 3D printed. This is one of the better ones out there. These have custom cut security screws that use a security bit to install and remove. Unlike typical security screws that use security bits that be bought at the local hardware store to use to unscrew, you cannot easily buy this custom security bit anywhere. It’s good that the security screws change after so many sets of the locks are created. This can make sure that it’s less likely for two people to have the same security bit for their lock. Someone won’t be able to buy a lock and have a security bit that can unlock most of the locks.Like all locks, including the locks on the doors of your house, they are not undefeatable. With the right tools and enough time, anything can be defeated. The aim is to layer your security to make it harder or take more time for a bad actor. They are quite easy and fast to install. It even fits in recessed OBD ports. Just be careful when installing and removing so that you don’t strip the threads or damage the nice anodized finish. The lock is made of aluminum so the threads can be stripped if they aren’t lined up properly. They are on the pricey side, but not as expensive as another good OBD port lock I have.We asked VTT to send us their OBD lock to review. They sent one for free, we paid the import fees. See the video for more info on it.

GOOD FIT, COULD USE STRONGER SCREWS
Product is well made overall, just don’t overtighten the screws and you’ll be golden ! ( just wish the screws were of a stronger material, hence 4 stars and not 5 )

    Easy to install
A snug fit! The “key” is very unique so it isn’t something that can be “picked”. It would be next to impossible for a would be thief to quickly remove this OBD lock without pulling the wires out of the back of the OBD unit.

    Exactly what I needed
Fits Mercedes AMG GT 4 door (x290).No dealership would drill that off to update your software and a thief won’t get those screws off without building some custom key tool. Expensive, but still less than half the cost of the dedicated Mercedes one I found, and serves its purpose beautifully, so I’m happy.

    Clean, works, expensive
Decent. Compact. Precision made, but that makes it very hard to install in tight spots. Fit my g80

    Theft deterrence device
The lock was easily fitted and is quite tight. It should be sufficient to deter thieves. The large red warning stickers on each side of the windscreen are clearly visible. Of course nothing will deter a thief if he has plenty of time, but this device should deter thieves looking to make a quick score.

Excellent quality easy to install and uninstall.Used in my Volvo and fit right on no messing around.I bought a cheaper lock to compare and the other was difficult to install with small screws that were a pain. Also on the cheaper model the “screw locks” are simple to get past as they use a security screw that you can get the key for anywhere. This unit is a great unit but a little pricey.3 months on and love it more and hate the cheap one worse.

Prompt delivery, very impressed with quality , well worth spending the difference compared to the cheaper OBD port locks on the market .Easy to fit even when working in the footwell . Took about three minutes to fit after watching a YouTube video – I would definitely recommend watching the video first for some really useful tips .Good sized window sticker as well to act as a visible deterrent

Has been heaps of car theft on push button start vehicles using lo-if RF attacks boosting your key fob signal while you sleep or a more common method of CANbus attack by reprogramming a new key via your OBD2 port.Either way, car is gone in less than 60s with readily available tech off Temu.Did my research on OBD port blocks and this is the best on the market. Quality CNC machined parts to an almost tolerance fit, and unique security keys in rotation.Would be very hard to get off without the unique key or destroying the OBD port plug.100% recommend this, plus get yourself a faraday box for your keys at night and a club lock for your steering wheel.

Easy enough to fit to the OBDII port and appears very secure, but now the cover concealing the wiring won’t go back on unless I cut some of the plastic away. Not something I was expecting to do with our brand new car! However it seems fit for purpose.
