Perfect upgrade path for my old network setup
I liked the feature list of this switch so much that I bought a second one with my own money. Plus I really thought it was time to begin upgrading my old network that still has one segment running 100base-T.This is not a managed switch, but is implements two of the features (VLAN protection and link aggregation) people might otherwise need a managed switch for. The way the VLAN and link aggregation modes work is not really shown on the Amazon listing page (at least not in a way that’s obvious), so I’ll describe them here. I hope this proves useful. These features are controlled by the three position mode switch on the front.If the switch is set to VLAN then it prevents a device connected through ports 1 to 4 from talking to a device connected any port other than ports 5 or 6. So this helps me isolate different classes of IoT devices from talking to each other or consuming bandwidth of each other in case the device’s firmware is somehow compromised. I use an actual managed switch with VLAN tagging upstream, but buying more (or larger) managed switches seemed like a waste of money and overkill. That and the flexibility to use the other modes if I no longer need to use this feature in the future is why this switch is so ideal for my needs.If the switch is set to link aggregation mode it will combine ports 4 and 5 together in order to double the bandwidth to effectively 5 Gbps. AFAIK it won’t do both VLAN isolation and Link aggregation. I don’t need that for my network at this time, but it’s nice to have that flexibility.If the switch is set to standard mode, then all ports operate like a normal unmanaged switch. And eventually as technology changes I can always use this setting to turn it into a small workstation local switch.For me this is a perfect solution with the only caveat being that whatever the embedded firmware is that exists in this switch doesn’t seem to have a management interface of its own. So if a security flaw is discovered in the future for the VLAN or link aggregation mode, I don’t see any way to install an update. Nevertheless, it can be change to the standard switch mode if it later VLAN isolation or link aggregation are no longer useful.I rate items as 4 stars if they meet all tested claims, remove stars for failed claims, and add stars for exceeding my expectations. In this case It would rate 4 stars because in my testing it does exactly what I want it to do and it matches the Amazon listing claims. However, since it also happens to be perfect for my needs now and flexible to be useful for future needs I feel that is a superior design. So for me this is a rare 5 stars.

So far, so good!
I picked this up as a replacement for an old Netgear gigabit switch to have a faster link upstairs. It works perfectly with 2.5GB on supported devices and even recognized a random Ubiquiti 10GB SFP+ adapter (which runs hot but oh well). No weird disconnects or other issues. I can’t speak to longevity, but for the price it’s great.

Perfect, exactly what I needed
Used this to replace an old router I was using as a switch that only had 1Gb output. With this little guy I get the full 2.5Gb my ISP provides. Very happy. All of my UGREEN products have been great. This is one company from China you can certainly trust.

This switch is ok. I tried to get the LACP to work with a Beelink me mini and it would not work and I had to turn LACP off.

Great value upgrade to add 2.5gb capabilities to my network
I recently added a Ugreen Nas to my household and it has 2 2.5gb ports for connecting. My home Network was only 1gb, however my main system also had a 2.5gb port so I wanted to upgrade the connection from my desktop to the Nas to the higher speed without having to upgrade my router. The Ugreen 2.5gb 6 port switch solved my problem economically and with future 10gb expansion availability. I hooked one cat 6e cable to my router from the switch and 2 cat 7 cables from the switch to the Nas and my PC. Instantly I gained 2.5 gb data transfers to my Nas from my PC and vice versa when the NAS can keep up. Most of my transfers are now more than twice as fast and I have expansion capacity in the future. Would definitely recommend this as a great value.

Solid switch
Works perfectly. Plug n play. Zero issues so far. 10 gig copper SFP works as well. Doesn’t even get hot. The packaging was also super premium.

If you want the basic level of plugging into your devices to get faster internet speed – this will work just fine. I get my full paid service of 2.5gb when connected to my PC. The thing doesnt get warm at all, and is very small and compact. Much smaller than my tp-link 2.5gb switch I just got- this one is very easy to fit anywhere.
