Identifies Issues/Errors; Easy Interface; Easy Navigation Tool; AI Tool is a Plus
The diagnostic tool works with my 2014 BMW 5i and 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 truck. The interface between the diagnostic device and my phone app was very easy and smooth. The app recognized the diagnostic device right away, and I was able to run the diagnostic with no issues. The diagnostic tool identified the errors that I already knew from my current Carly OBD tool. The app was relatively well designed and responsive, although there were minor glitches where I was having trouble launching the AI tool from the “Issues Found” page. The AI works, but it felt a bit clunky, and the answers provided was very general, but I can see how it would be helpful interpreting the issues in a plain English that is easy to understand. Compared to Carly experience, this tool is a little more simplistic, specifically designed to diagnose the issues with the vehicle where Carly allows to change the various settings of the vehicle, but it does require subscription service, which could become expensive for a tool that is used occasionally. I liked the app option of cost estimate of addressing the issues, potential cost of maintenance given the recorded milage of the vehicle, and nearby service centers specific to my vehicle make. I think this device a great gift idea. This device could be a good investment, especially like me with older cars because running a diagnostic service at the dealership does cost over $125.

Small, compact, easy to use
Only giving 4 starts simply because I have not needed to use this device yet. It appears exactly s pictured and is very easy to use. I cannot speak to how well it works, as my car has no engine issues going on, but it’s definitely a great device to have in hand when it comes to vehicle diagnostics and maintenance. I do recommend this product and will update once I’ve used it!

It has a nice interface, reads OBD II info well…but I have privacy concerns
As an OBD II reader this device seems to do a very nice job of running diagnostics and presenting it’s results in layman’s terms. I had it run diagnostics on two vehicles, a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 and a 2019 Toyota Rav4. It reported running 144 diagnostic tests on both vehicles with no trouble codes on either one. I did find that the connection to the Rav4 was a bit flaky as I could not get a connection after pushing it into the OBD II port. I found I needed to slightly pull it back and wiggle the device to connect. I think this device is more nicely suited for someone who is not a mechanically inclined ‘car person’.It can be set up to tell you when various maintenance services are due and provide estimates for that service in your area. As far as reading trouble codes and clearing them go however a ‘car guy’ will probably be just as well served by several of the OBD II scanners which are available at much lower prices in the market.I found I was not able to connect my vehicles to my iPad tablet but that may have been due to the tablet being out of wi-fi range at the time. It did connect without problems to my iPhone 13.The company, Sparq, seems to have a few other devices on the market as well and the setup info for the software says it may collect data pertaining to your Financial Info, your contact info, your user content, and other ‘identifiers’. Since I don’t understand why a product that is bought and paid for needs to collect ‘Financial Info’ and user content I am skeptical that the customer might become their product to someone else. I included screenshots with the review that were taken during the setup.

Surprisingly Powerful and Easy to Use
I was very impressed with the functionality of this OBD2 scanner. It’s packed with smart features and the AI integration really sets it apart from other scanners I’ve tried. Worked flawlessly with my 2023 Nissan Frontier Pro-X. Best part—no subscriptions or hidden fees. Just plug it in, connect via Bluetooth, and go. Highly recommended for any car owner looking for an affordable and capable diagnostic tool.

The design almost fooled me…
The positive first. Let me commend its design, both in hardware and software! The bluetooth dongle looks very cool and feels nice and sturdy in hand, with some weight of its metal construction. The software, which works on the iOS, is also beautifully designed and is pleasing to use. It feels smooth to go through the connection, system scanning, health report, etc. and you feel effortless in terms of the user experience design. It does identify my vehicle, which is indeed a Lexus RX350, and presents an appealing report about its status. These are reasons for the (two) stars.But beyond that, I’d never pay over $100 for nearly nothing informative from this device as an OBD diagnostic tool/scanner. I’m a DIY mechanic and have owned and tested dozens of scan tools from $20 basic OBD2 to semi/professional units. While the list of items on the health report from this device appears impressive, it doesn’t give anything beyond a $20 OBD2 scanner — in fact, it offers less than a basic unit does as I couldn’t even find a way to dig into some of the basic systems such as Engine and monitor very basic variables such as coolant temperature and fuel trims, which any OBD2 scanner can do.As you can see on the screenshots, the device appears to have gone through all systems to tell everything is okay, when I know there are some minor issues on this vehicle that a scanner capable of scanning all these systems should’ve identified. It looks like the scanner has gone through all these systems razor fast — it’s again a long list that even my best, much more expensive scanner will take some time — to find nothing.Bottom line — the report doesn’t look right, many items aren’t applicable and they are still checked (in green), and the speed it scans tells it doesn’t really go into those modules.And more important, it doesn’t even offer basic data streams that a $20 OBD2 unit offers. Unless I missed something, why would anyone pay $100+ just for a beautifully designed scanner and an easy-to-use app, if the core functionality is missing?
