The Field 7 is the best large BT speaker to date.
I’m back with another speaker review, help, and Sony has really knocked it out of the park with this one. I’ve mainly used my Boombox 3 for comparison against the Sony Field 7, and while Theodore Roosevelt said, “Comparison is the thief of joy,” he wasn’t wrong—it’s tough to resist comparing speakers side by side. The only area where this Sony doesn’t excel is in the sub-45Hz range, though it still gives it a good try. While the Boombox 3 rumbles a bit more in that low-end, this Sony more than makes up for it in other areas. The ULT2 in this Sony decimates every portable system I’ve heard. The sound separation is fantastic, allowing every layer of your music to shine. Battery life is impressive, too. I left it unplugged for about a month, using it nightly for about an hour, and only after 30 days did the charge light come on. That’s serious endurance. The multipoint connection works seamlessly between my tablet and iPhone, making it one of the few systems that hasn’t caused me any frustration. The lighting is another standout feature—far brighter than I expected. Unlike the dim ring lights on the SRS 300, these lights provide enough glow to add some nice ambiance, though not quite enough to light up a room or throw a strobe party. And durability? It’s built like a tank. You could even turn it on its side and use it as a stool. Overall, this speaker delivers in almost every category, making it one of the best I’ve encountered.

Looks good and works very well
This was a gift to my husband. He loves to listen to music while relaxing outside on the deck that he built in our back yard. The Bluetooth connection from an I-Phone works well. The sound quality is very good and the volume this speaker can crank out is incredible! That being said, we do not blast our neighbors with the volume, just saying, it can produce the volume when desired or needed. It is portable. We charge it and move it to area we’d like it to be. It is easy to grab the speaker by the hand holds on either side and carry it. An audio message alerts us when charging is needed.

This thing is a MONSTER!
Dude its bigger than you think! Imagine a standard portable speaker, but for giants. THATS what this is. The power is absolutely BONKERS! My neighbors even yelled at me. And it was barely any volume! At max volume, its barely distorts! The software is a bit scrambled all over, the Ui on the app is an outdated feeling. And a couple weeks later, I FOUND OUT ITS SUPPORTED FOR LDAC! which is crazy for the size of this thing! Portability isn’t very ergonomic because of how heavy it is. There probably are accessories for it so it helps with it, but oh well. Its good for the use. Charging speed is a little longer than most things I’ve charged. But who cares! This is a proper product from sony! This is why I trust sony in the deep of my heart. The fact its 45 watts max power is insane!! I like the light shows it has. I love how it literally syncs to the song itself! The light show colors are very vibrant. This is probably the most positive review I’ve laid my hands on. Absolute beast of a speaker! You can even use it as a guitar amplifier speaker if you wanted! And it still sounds good!

Perhaps a little toooo deep
I’ve previously used 4 sony Bluetooth speakers since a first try with a little SRS-XB32. I saw this become available at a good price after reading some good reviews and had the spare money to replace a big and nice sounding SRS-XG500 that I moved to another room. This is louder and defaults with much heavier bass than what it replaced. Sometimes I’ll just be grooving with great music at a loud but not deafening level and the bass content is just too strong, almost shaking the room. Fine if it was a party perhaps but I think I had to tune it a little and take out some bass. However, it does sound great. The biggest criticisms are that Bluetooth is nice and tidy but it drops out a little for a beat occasionally. That’s annoying and a wired speaker wouldn’t do it. It doesn’t sound like a mono source but there is little stereo width due to it all being in the one box, getting good stereo definition would require buying two and grouping them as a stereo pair, or you could keep your head a few inches from one (might as well buy headphones at the same price/quality). Plus, the Sony “Music Center” app for making configuration changes can be a pretty flaky, crashes all the time on one of my recent Samsung tablet models but not on the other. While I can create speaker groups it will only create a “party” group from two same speaker models. I have a pair of SRS-XG300 speakers and grouped as a “stereo” pair they fill a room with great stereo sound but I can’t group one ULT Field 7 even with my SRS-XG500 as a “stereo” pair even though they have similar volume and sound. The built in lights are a nice party trick but not much use for anything else, they’ll waste enough battery power that I don’t normally bother. Non-flashing, calm daylight color can make a nice dark room background that’s dimmer than a lamp and better power saving than room lights while reading a book from tablet but aren’t bright enough to permit reading a paper book in a dark room.

great size and amazing sound , easy to pair and use
As i mentioned in my title this sony speaker has great size and amazing sound. Super easy to pair with any phone. Just as easy as pairing your phone and car radio. Sony crushed it in making a straight forward and user friendly portable speaker that doesnt require propiatary apps, email and or account.. pair and enjoy with whatever music app you use. Use their app IF you want to . THANK YOU SONY FOR CARING ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCE.

ULT 7 vs Boombox 3 vs PartyBox 120
We have the ULT Field 7, the JBL Boombox 3, and the JBL PartyBox 120. all of them are good. the boombox has more bass, the partybox has a better light show if you’re into that, but I have to say the ULT 7 sounds better at loud volume than the others. the sound is cleaner compared to the other speakers. i also like the the ULT 7 can be used vertically or horizontally. so for me, the ULT 7 is the best of the three speakers.

I heard this model a few months ago at a SONY showroom in MALAYSIA. The first thing I noticed was the extraordinary sound that emanated from it. Crystal clear wide spectrum vocals with superb clarity & bass. I managed to pick this up at Amazon prime day sale for a great price much lower than what I saw in Malaysia & what was initially advertised in AMAZON. Initial reaction is I’m very happy & look forward to an extended use. The speaker is built like a tank meant to withstand nature. Extremely easy to use after some initial charging. The only speaker in competition to this would be the Marshall Tufton which is slightly more expensive than the SONY.

Bought to use on our pool deck in our 90 foot wide yard. I placed the speaker against the back of the house and I can hear clear bass and full range of sound at nearly any volume level anywhere I walked all over the yard. It appears to give better bass in the standing up position than the laying down position as I assume it just pounds the low notes into the deck boards when standing up.Connected to my older mid range Samsung phone no problem and also downloaded and used the Sony music center app to make use of the EQ feature.I also tried it in the center area of the main floor of the house and could easily hear this speaker anywhere in the house. It’s loud and clear. I was hesitant how the bass was going to be but pleasantly surprised.I was between this speaker and the JBL boombox 3 but after many YouTube comparison videos that I watched while listening to them through my home theatre it was clear in most videos I watched the JBL BB3 had no midrange ( only lows and highs with nothing in between).I listened to different genres of music with this Sony and was pleased that I could hear highs, mids and lows. Can’t wait until next summer to turn this speaker loose.

Very nice speaker. I wanted a portable speaker with good bass as well as clarity for my home use, which could be carried across rooms and across floors in the house. This speaker serves the purpose very well. Output sun ke mazaa aa gaya. I just miss one feature, I.e. a all-time battery level indicator, so that I know whether I have to plug it in for charging, at the end of my speaker usage session.
