Built like a tank—stable in the field, precise enough for long glass
As a photographer who bounces between desert racing, sports, and real estate, I’ve put this Neewer aluminum fluid head and tripod through a wide range of abuse. It’s heavy, durable, and inspires confidence—even with a 600 mm lens or while running multi-exposure brackets. Stability is rock solid; pans are smooth, and it doesn’t flinch under pressure.Where it shines is video and action work. Fluid movements are steady and reliable—exactly what I need when the subject doesn’t sit still. For real estate, though, I’ll admit a geared head would be less tedious; getting perfectly level and square shot after shot is just faster with gears than with a fluid system. That said, this head has proven itself in every scenario I’ve thrown at it. If you value stability and toughness above shaving ounces, it’s a serious piece of gear that earns its spot for everyday use.

Performs like a tripod costing thousands more
This tripod is heavy, yes, but its one of the reasons it performs so well, like a Sachtler (Funny, just saw one on the set of the Great British Baking Show as I was typing this) or Vinten that costs a whole lot more. Not enough weight means jerky panning and tilting, at least in my opinion. The mid-level spreader is a nice plus when setting up for a shot on uneven terrain. I greatly prefer it to a ground spreader. One of my favorite features is the ball head. The handle to loosen the ball is very large, allowing me to (balance the head and) tighten it down quickly and securely. The motion on the head is very nice, too, approaching a pricy fluid head. The clips to hold the legs together while the tripod is collapsed aren’t very heavy so they’ll fail with heavy use, but I’ve never had a tripod with these types of clips so I’m not too worried about them breaking. The rest of the tripod is very well made. The locks are sturdy. All in all, a VERY nice tripod with truly professional features at an amazingly reasonable price. I expect to get very good use and great videos out of mine. A beautiful pan is well worth the weight, always.

    Great Tripod with much functionality
Sturdy Tripod that allows me to mount heavy cinema camera rigs. It loads heavy weight and 360 swivel makes is very versatile to level horizon on uneven platforms. Strong locking system too

    Great for the Money!
Didn’t expect it to be this good honestly, but it’s extremely sturdy and gets the job done!

    – If This Shakes, Call the USGS
I recently upgraded to an extreme telephoto camera and assumed my old tripod would be up to the task—it had handled my DSLR with a 240mm lens just fine. I was wrong. I needed something rock-solid, and found it in the NEEWER 79″ Tripod. This is not a lightweight, toss-in-your-day-bag tripod. It’s a heavy-duty outdoor platform built to keep your camera steady. If you notice camera shake while using this, you’re probably in the middle of an earthquake. The fluid drag head delivers smooth, controlled pan and tilt movements, even at extreme magnification. Once you lock the camera in place, it stays put—no drift.I don’t shoot much video, but with a load capacity of nearly 18 pounds, I’m confident this tripod would be an excellent choice for videographers as well.

    GREAT BANG FOR THE BUCK
I OWN A NUMBER OF TRIPODS. THIS ONE IS GREAT. QUICK EASY SETUP. QUALITY APPEARS TO BE VERY GOOD. I HAVE ONLY USED IT A FEW TIMES … I AM PLEASED SO FAR. I PURCHASED THIS SPECIFICALLY TO USE WITH MY SMART TELESCOPE AFTER SOMEONE RECOMMENDED IT IN AN ASTRONOMY GROUP. WOULD WORK WELL WITH A CAMERA WITH ANY LENS BUT ESPECIALLY WITH A BIG TELEPHOTO. VERY EASY TO ADJUST. I LIKE THAT IT HAS THE FLIP LEG LOCKS AS OPPOSED TO THE TWIST TYPE.

Very nice tripod for under $90
I am impressed with the stability of this tripod. Although I thought others were exaggerating about the weight of this tripod, it is a bit heavy. Two things I wish were different: 1) that the zipper on the bag was larger and 2) that the spreader device was made of aluminum rather than plastic. Other than that, this tripod will be very useful; the bag Is nicely padded. It’s not as robust as my Manfrotto tripods; I was hoping the quick release plate (QRP) would be compatible with my more expensive tripods, but alas, no… Since the legs are aluminum, most of the weight must be with the rather robust head? 20-30 years ago, a tripod with this head would have been four times or more the cost of this NeeWer tripod!

This is a premium item, the design is excellent, its strength is good for heavy cameras, very stable, the height it can achieve is very good; it is a bit heavy because of its size but not excessive.Very recommendable.

The instruction booklet is not very helpful, only 4 of the 39 pages are in English, and they don’t even mention the ball head levelling adjustment which is a super nice feature that videographers will appreciate. Unlike the instructions the product itself is just awesome. The pan and tilt movements are silky smooth, and locking them down doesn’t change your camera alignment making it easy to use. With the first set of legs extended it is at a good working height, with the second set extended it’s above my 6′ head level. The locking levers have a very positive feel and they function well. It’s very stable and has some substantial weight to it. During initial unboxing it seemed to be much more massive than I’d expected. However, once I set it up the first time I was impressed with the overall build quality, and it’s something I’m sure I’ll be happily using for many years to come. My only complaint is that the adjustment handle has to come off to fit in the storage bag, but honestly this is a minor inconvenience for such a good product, and this really is excellent value for money.
