Dead batteries, but otherwise great 👍
Works great. Much better than my old Blink. I’m curious to see if the battery life is really as good as it says though. I had bought a solar panel for my previous one and my kid tripped over the wire (mind you it was not laying on the open lol so we dont know how he managed it) and the doorbell came off the wall and never worked again.I was excited to find this on sale. Made it affordable and worth it to replace my old doorbell especially since it comes with a sync module. I’d wanted one before but never found the extra budget to justify it. It works beautifully. Integrated with my Alexa to turn on my porch Light with motion detection. I like that you can turn off motion detection for animals. My cats are notorious for wanting to be outside at night and they have to go on the porch and set off the doorbell. The 2 way talk is nice when I need to tell my kids to stop fussing or messing around when they’re waiting for the bus and it’s not too bad of a lag time or delay. Easy to install, app is easy enough to figure out. My only problem is that teh batteries it came with were dead lol.

Blink Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) Review: A Worthwhile Upgrade
The new Blink Video Doorbell is a significant step up from the original, making it an excellent choice for budget-conscious homeowners looking for robust security features. This second-generation model delivers major improvements, especially in its field of view and overall performance. The most fantastic improvement is the Head-to-Toe HD view (with a new 1:1 aspect ratio). This change alone is a game-changer, eliminating the frustrating blind spots where packages might have been sitting unseen on the doorstep. Coupled with an expanded field of view (now 150 degrees, up from 135), the range and quality of what you can capture far surpasses the previous Blink doorbell. Live view also seems to load faster, making on-demand checks much more responsive. The camera now offers higher 1440p resolution and an improved IP65 weather rating, ensuring better video clarity and durability in the elements. For users with a Blink Subscription Plan, this new generation also adds person detection, a valuable feature for cutting down on unnecessary alerts. The only negative, as noted, is the increased battery consumption, requiring three AA Energizer lithium batteries instead of the original two. While this is a minor inconvenience that may lead to higher running costs in the long term, the trade-off is often worth it for the drastically improved viewing capability and the overall enhanced performance. Despite the extra battery, Blink still claims up to two years of battery life when paired with a Sync Module Core, which is impressive for a wireless device. In summary, the 2nd Generation Blink Doorbell is a strong competitor in the affordable smart doorbell market, delivering crucial visual enhancements that make it a highly recommended upgrade.

stress-free, simple, efficient, and with outstanding battery life
I decided to try the latest Blink Video Doorbell to improve my home security, and I’ve had a genuinely great experience! What I liked most:Setup was incredibly easy and I had everything working in minutes. The app is user-friendly, and linking the doorbell with Alexa or getting real-time notifications on my phone was hassle-free. The video quality is excellent, both day and night. The field of vision is much wider than other models I’ve used before, and the battery life is fantastic; after months of use, I’ve barely needed to recharge it.Two-way audio works smoothly, so I’ve been able to chat with delivery drivers even when away from home. The Sync Module let me connect other Blink devices and build a more complete security system, all managed from one app.Possible downsides:You need a subscription to store video in the cloud, but you can still get free live alerts and notifications.Audio can sound a bit “tinny” at times, but it’s clear enough for normal use.Lacks the AI-person detection you’ll find in some premium models, but it does the basics reliably well. All in all, I feel much safer knowing I can check my front door from my phone anytime, stress-free. Highly recommended if you want something simple, efficient, and with outstanding battery life.
