5 Star Echo device.
Okay everyone. My only regret is that I cannot afford a 2nd one right now. First off. Way to go to the design engineering. This Echo is sleek. Love the look. I paired this with my sub and it has amazing sound. As far as everyone’s expectations, lighten up. It does what it is suppose to. The AI isn’t as good as Chat GPT or GROK, but the convenience of Amazon available in easy conversation anywhere in my home is unbeatable. The speed is also great. It is isn’t the device that is slow, it is your internet and the use of the port in your wifi. My Echo responds perfectly and fast. Good job Amazon team. Hope to get another soon.

Not production ready. In beta at best.
Seems to be a decent piece of hardware, but in typical 2025 fashion, manufacturers release a product early and then let the customer do all the testing, find all the bugs, report all the issues, etc. Definitely the case with the echo show 8.This device is absolutely not ready for prime time. It should have never even shipped. I respect that I’m an early adopter, but I had slightly higher expectations for this price point. Amazon team can do better.I’ve worked in tech for 30 years with hardware and software technology teams agile teams etc so I’m very familiar with what it takes to bring something like this to the market and ensure it’s working properly for the consumer.The Echo 8 has lots of bugs, quirky interface a lot of the features that you try and use don’t work settings don’t function the one thing that does work really well is it continues to run tips and ads which I can’t seem to turn off for the life of me.What’s even more annoying is just that you can’t dismiss the Alexa plus tips it doesn’t allow you to upload photos of certain types doing so is a pain, certain features lead to dead ends, and it’s constantly trying to get you to do more with the Amazon ecosystem through subtle advertisements.I remain hopeful that future iterations of the firmware and software will unlock new functionality bug fixes etc but for now super disappointed.24 hour UPDATE: I have decided to return the device I will be purchasing a Samsung Android tablet and running the Alexa app on it which is far more capable, flexible, and mature the Android operating system is vastly superior over Amazon’s OS.Last thought the devices native angle is appropriate for certain use cases but lacks the ability to adjust it which means you’ll have to fork out for almost a $50 base if you want to be able to adjust that angle so they get you for a steep price tag for the device, and then they get you again after you have to purchase an add-on to properly set the angle.

It ok.Pros:Great soundSleek screenCons:- Screen can have a hard time registering touch- Home widgets cannot be customized to expand- Alexa notice cannot be omitted from widget page and takes up space- Netflix no longer shown as video option, must open as a browser … you’d have to Bookmark Netflix as a webpage- TV & Videos auto populated with sites like FB, IG, Redbull TV etc and no way to delete these

This is a great device but I bought it to watch Netflix and it doesn’t support it the previous model did support it witch was a smaller screen that why I wanted to update you should DO an update to have Netflix on this device would be the best device.

New Echo Show 11 2025
I traded in my Echo Show 8 (2023) because it was hard of hearing, and the screen was too small to read from a distance. The new Echo Show 11 is better in both respects. I’ve had Alexa+ for a couple of months now on the old Echo Show 8, but it was tough to use because of the unresponsiveness and the small screen.Setup of the Echo Show 11 was easy – it was able to copy the settings from the old Echo Show. It set up the Feminine Voice #2 that sounds like the OG Alexa from the start. I still had to tweak all my reminders and routines to point to the new Echo. Visual ID had to be set up again. I had to unpair the Echo Subwoofer from the old Echo and re-pair it with the new one to get it to work properly. The new setup was way too boomy, so I had to figure out how to reduce the bass. It does sound very good now, better than the old set up.I somehow lost the paper documentation the Echo Show 11 came with because I set it aside during unboxing and now can’t figure out where it went. You don’t really need it and there is a quick guide PDF you can download.In summary, it is mostly the same Echo Show with many improvements, while there will be a learning curve to get the most out of Alexa+.

Great device but limited streaming options
Initial 6 hour quick review. Great device and big upgrade from the Echo show 10. I’m just a bit aggravated in the native video apps supported by the device. It does support prime video, YouTube(browser), TikTok(browser), peacock(browser) and hbo max(browser ) but no Netflix ( previously supported in echo show 10 model available later per Amazon above description) or others. This device is our main video streaming device for the kitchen and to only support these few is a huge disappointment.Soo much capability in this device to be hampered by video/app distribution squabbles. Reason for 4 out of 5 stars. Would be 5 out of 5 if amazon added more native video streaming apps.
