This unit primarily fills a gap for vehicles where you can’t reset the service warning via the driver settings menu. It gives you all the basic functionality you expect from an OBD-II scanner: reading trouble codes, clearing the check engine light, checking readiness status, and more. It plugs in easily and gets power from the vehicle–no extra battery or cables required.For cars that lock you out of resetting service or oil change reminders via the dashboard, this tool lets you do the job yourself rather than going to a shop. The interface is straightforward–no steep learning curve. A solid choice for DIY maintenance or routine checks.

Good for Reading Codes
This is a nice code reader for the price range that it is in. It doesn’t take long to boot up. It’s fast at retrieving codes. The menu is self-explanatory and easy to navigate. There is a USB C port on the bottom of the unit that is used to update the firmware in the unit. It will also power up the unit. The unit automatically powers up when connected to an OBD 2 diagnostic port. I have not tried to update the firmware, but it is supposed to be free. This unit can be used on 1996 and up OBD 2 systems. You can capture some live data. You can look at the OBD 2 monitor test results, view freeze frame data and reset oil lights on applicable vehicles. There is also a cloud print selection that is used when connected to a laptop. I have not tested that ability. This is a nice code reader, and it is what it is for the price range it’s in. There are few things to note with that being said. This is NOT a bidirectional scanner. Resetting an oil lite does not make it bidirectional. Bidirectional is being able to turn certain components on and off for testing. Performing resets and relearns and various other things. The live data that you can view is related to OBD 2 functions, mainly emissions related. The data is in digital, and you cannot graph it. This unit doesn’t technically test anything; you view the results of OBD 2 monitor tests. This unit does have a lot of nice features. Just be aware of what it can do and what you are trying to accomplish, and you won’t be disappointed.

Accurate!
I’ve only been able to test it with one code so far but follow along with me.I had my car checked, and although there wasn’t a check engine light on, we were told that we would probably need to replace our fuel injectors at some point.A few weeks go by the check engine light comes on. We use the scanner. The scanner indicates that we have a fuel injector problem.Works well! Easy to use and charge.

Works as advertised, UI needs some polishing
This OBD scan tool has several functions above others I have used. The ability to graph data over a short period of time, oil change light reset and the obvious check engine light scan functionality.I was able to reset the oil change interval on a new vehicle. This process did require approximately 9 menu selections.Retrieval of stored and new CEL codes was also done as well as clearing these codes. Please not no tool is able to remove the issue causing the check engine light, but after repairs this tool can remove the light or aid in troubleshooting.My main gripe is the UI. See pictures for odd menu items that most users won’t understand. Secondly the number of clicks required to use its functions is excessive. In my opinion if a menu only has one option, then the device shouldn’t present you will the requirement to select the only option.If the price were dropped and the menu cleaned up this would be a solid recommendation.
