Worst thermostat of them all
Don’t get me wrong, it’s the Google thermostat. I’m sure it’s great but good luck trying to hook it up. Only works for about 85% of HVAC systems. Not to mention you do need a pro to hook it up. So by the time you pay for this and I’ve looked around I’ve even used Google’s on tech. They charge you $150 just to come out. If they have to do any type of rewiring you’re looking anywhere from $300 to $500 for installation. So by the time everything’s said and done You’re looking at about a $700 thermostat. Go with the Gen 3 or higher. You won’t be disappointed

Make sure you read the directions
Easy to install, exactly as pictured. Had to plug it into a wall charger to get it to charge enough to link it to WiFi and stuff because it would try and find a network then it would die and reboot. Only thing is the display is very light, almost like there is a sticker on the front but there isn’t. Will come in handy with saving on heat bills with eco mode. 2nd time buying a learning thermostat and I love them.

My old digital thermostat was very limited, no remote connection and display was getting dim.Since We use Google home and nest devices already, I chose this Nest smart thermostat. It was a cinch to install and then add to Google Home. Having remote management, usage info, voice control and scheduling capabilities is a game changer. Love it ❤️

Set up is difficult.
User interface is easy had to call Nest Support twice and the wiring is funky and if not just right you may lose some functionality. It looks great. The compatibility with the rest of the system is seamless. It is very energy efficient. And the rebates and programs to get money for buying it are insane. It looks good and is just the right size. But set up was a pain for sure.

Great upgrade for my system!Bought my first house last year, and one of the first things I did was install a Nest Thermostat E to run my HVAC system. Probably one of the best investments any home owner can make. The app is super easy to use, just like the unit itself. I’m already seeing a drop in my heating & cooling bill. I will be adding the Smoke/CO Detector and a Nest outdoor camera very soon. Two thumbs up for Nest!
